Congratulations buddy, and all the best.

I wanted to ask you about stamping the visa, as I read you actually got the visa in 1 week, can you please enlighten me on what you did.

As my husband works for an airline, and he travels most of the time, so you can imagine how difficult it is for him to be without passport for 2 weeks, I will be submitting passports in person to London, shall I ask them if I can collect it in one weeks time, or shall I just show up after a week.

Please advise.

Sihs,
As I mentioned..in the immigration office, there is just a collection agent.their job is to just collect the pp, they dont give any other comments..so try to be their 1st in the line (i would say before 1, as its get busier by 1.30) and submit pp..jsut go there normally the next week..if they were not that busy the earlier week, they should take your pp for process...

My job also involves frequent travelling, so as I could not risk the pp for this long, I had to give this a try....

Keep your hands crossed..if you are waiting there only for pp, then i recommend you to check the status next week..no harm in that..

Last am not the specialist in this..if u get more experiences..you can guarantee that..mind it, I had asked opinion from many before submitting, but none told I would get by 2 weeks..

Best of luck and pls let me know abt your processing..

Hi Sajitma,

Thank you for your reply, according to what you are saying then I will try and be there quite early.

My other question was did you just go the first Thursday after submitting your passports and try giving them the receipt to check if the passports were ready, or how did you get to know that they were ready for colleaction?

Thank you for help, very much appreciated.

Sihs

Dear Sihs,
There is no system of following up on passport status. Usually what they advice is to come after 2 weeks on Thursday to collect passports. But I would advice you to give a try, to go the next Thursday with the receipt, they wont ask you anything.. If ready, you will get the passport the next week itself..

Best of luck...

Dear Seniors,
As I
had mentioned in this forum earlier, am planning to land in Toronto with family to do the Landing procedure on Feb 15, apply for PR & SIN and return after one week (present job dosent permit more...)

A few questions before landing:

1. Child Immunisation Paper - As I dont have any plans to go for school admissions for my child, do I need to take it signed from doctor? Do they need this paper for any other official purpose?

2. About the PR, I happened to see some experiences like they ask us to come to the office directly to collect the PR, also mentioned in the CIC website..Is this any new cumpolsory rule or depends upon IO? So I believe, when the IO asks the question " How many days am planning to stay in Canda?" - I need to tell that I will be waiting till I receive PR, else if I tell one week then are there chances that they might not accept to apply for PRC?

3. As I am planning to stay only for 5 night, is it still advicable to take a Travel insurance..keeping the present scenario and having a 2 year daughter with me??

Please can any one advice...

Thanks a looooooooot for this detailed advices and the time devoted time taken by all the people for aiding us juniors for the Canada dream...

Very good job especially as in this present world, none would even give the smallest advice free of charge...but let this be free itself.. ;D

Thanks a looot..

Hi ladami,

Let's hope you get it within 4 weeks. However, the trend we see in this forum is that people gets back their passports between 4-6 wks if they apply in person to London VO, or 6-10 if thru courier. Basically, once passports reach London VO, they process it, send it back to Abu Dhabi Canadian embassy, then Abu Dhabi dispaches these to the other GCC countries by courier.

Cheers

[size=10pt]Dear Sajit,
In regards to Q1, I'm not sure so better wait for someone's reply.
Q2 For first time PRs they are always sent by mail as far as I know from reading the info on CIC web page, and through different forum members, however it will not be advisable to tell the officer once you land that you are staying only to get the PR card otherwise he will not apply for you at that time, just tell him you will be setteling down this time, even if you will only stay 5 days.
Q3 It's always advisable to have insurance even if it is only 5 days, as with kids you never know what could happen. Hopefully nothing but better be on the safe side.
And last I would wish you all the best and good luck with your landing, and wish all goes on well, and as you planned.
Regards,
Sihs

Hi everyone !

My visa is stamped but I was thru a consultant based in Dubai. Sharing my experiences so that every one will be aware what the consultants do:

1) Their sales team rigorously followed up till I signed the contract.
2) Once, I signed the contract I was asked to pay
3) Once I submitted all the documents, they were sitting on them for over a month.
4)Then, sales team would never answer my calls. If I call their operations team, they would never pickup the phones. No response to my mails. The telephone operator would take my message and would say 'they will call you back'
5) After getting frustrated, if I visit them, the receptionist would say 'do you have an appointment?'
6) They were sitting on my medical request form for over a month.
7) Since they were not doing anything (no followup with CHC, no response), I got in touch with CHC directly after more than 5 months from the medicals. Within 3 days CHC sent me a mail asking to deposit the passports.
8) When I submitted passports to the consultant, they were sitting on passports for 4 days and after making more than a dozen calls and a dozen emails, they despatched.

Bottom line, they are a mere courier agents. They collect our documents and despatch them. So, why do we waste over 10,000 dirhams on them just to act as our courier agents?

Bonjour Canada

Qorax,
I had a doubt in B4 form regarding the country of Origin & Export. I am basically from India, applied from UAE and am planning to leave Toronto starting from Qatar. In this case, I believe my Country of Origin will be India and country of export? In this forum it has been mentioned Country of Export should be home country also mentioned as am not exporting anything it will be N/A?? pls can you confirm??

Also in the form where they are asking for " Additional goods to follow" should I select others as am planning to attach seperate excel sheets as you adviced..

Please could you assist..

Thanks..

Dear Sihs,
Thanks for your advice..I feel now as you mentioned it would be safe to take travel insurance..Then about the Immunisation papers, I talked with one of my friends in Canada and he told its only needed for school admissions..

Inshalla all should go in positive way..

Country of Origin : the place where the goods r manufacrtured. If u r unsure - &/or there r multiple locations - write the same place of Export.
Country of Export : the place from where your goods r shipping to Canada. Qatar in your case. (same for the 1st point).
Addnl goods to follow : Write -"Sheets Attached".
