I am in india & i am thinking of applying for visa through FSW category.
I don't have the birth certificate with me.
Do i need that or can i submit any other document to that effect.
Kindly advise.

initially you dont have to send the birth but you need it afterwards which they will ask for sure. You can however show other proofs e.g. baptismal certificate and others its listed on the visa officer specific requirements.

here's the link. You should be applying thru the new delhi visa office.
