I see your VO is Kenya Nairobi - the average processing time there is 29 months. Starting from November 2012 when you got your Sponsor Approval. I'm sorry to say you shouldn't be expecting any news on ECAS for quite a while.

Steph C I think I explained it wrong at fisrt time, I got someone from CIC explain it to me. It shows under Sponsored Pesron's name when I log in Ecas with my UCI because I am also the Representative of the Sponsored person. He said mine should be said DM long time when I got approved since I have not paid the Right permanent Residence the visa has been hold until it is paid and there was no need to send the passport because the Sponsored Person is an Asylm Seeker in the country she is living instead the visa will be affixed in a one way travel document delivered by CIC once I paid the RPR which will done tomorrow.

Hi every one! I sent my spousal sponsorship to Mississauga on September 14 2012 and on November 1 2012 they sent me an approval email that I met the eligibility as a sponsor and my application was sent to Kenya Nairobi for final processing. my status was in process from November 1 2012 till last tuesday now it says Decision made because I filed everything with medicals at the same time but when I click on DM nothing has changed yet. Anyone with leads? when I click on Decision Made I still see : We received your application to sponsor XXXX XXXX on September 14, 2012.


We started processing your application on November 1, 2012.


We sent you a letter on November 21, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

I got too confused that I could not explain what I was explaining now everything make sense. I also contacted two people this evening who actually sponsored their spouses through Nairobi. One person told me his Sponsorship took 8 months and the other it took her 5 1/2 months. So I am not really suprise if mine took only 6 months to see Decision Made for the second time under the sponsored person's name.

That's cool. I think you need to get some expert advice. Maybe wait a bit or ask on the Spousal Sponsorship thread?

I have a document that I received when they sent me a sponsorship kit. it says before the very bottom that if RPRF is not paid visa will be block until the sponsor pay it. You are right what you are saying lol. I just wished you all the best too Steph.

Steph do you have any idea how CIC Mississauga send our applications to Visa Offices? because I head that they do send by Electronic diplomatical courrier to avoid delay and obstacles then the papers and other stuff follow later. Any idea?

Called them this morning about DM they said they are sending a letter to me in few days. I am paying the RPRF this thursday. Good Luck every one.

Not necessarily true!-The time varies from one applicant to another,my friend sponsored his wife via Nairobi and theirs was approved in three months!Needless to say she left him three weeks after getting here -Another friend five months and she was here!

Thanks very much Mrembo, I know that the timeline which are in these VOs is not always correct because some of the Applications are processed much faster than their timeline on the website and some go even beyond that timeline. But I am not surprised that I see Decision Made in 4 months and 12 days after my file was trasfered to Nairobi.

Thanks for this, I just tried and checked my wife's name and hers is in process as of yesterday, woo hoo!
