Hey everyone.

Ive sent in my CEC Application at the end of December 2012 and my application was received and considered complete in February 2013. So ive been waiting since.

Im just wondering does anyone know what we should be expecting at this time, what the next steps are going to be and when we should hear back. and most importantly when i can move back to Canada.

Any information anyone has would be great.

it depends...every application is different. when your medical is uploaded, CIC will need to go over it. then there is still the security check. also, you would need to pay the RPRF fee and send bio info (hair, eye color, etc.). then there is the passport request and COPR. last is the landing. there is no set timeline....depends largely on application (did you travel a lot, do you have ties to organizations, how many countries you lived in - that sorta thing). could take a few weeks for visa exempt or months for non-visa exempt applicants. all depends!

I am hoping I will receive MR before but I highly doubt it since the strike is not over yet.

Just received my GCMS note and it says everything in progress. criminality check, RCMP screening etc.. Due date is 6 Feb 2014.

There are no dumb questions, just dumb answers
Due date means the theoretical limit when your file is due to further attention/next step by the officer. Luckily, they don't wait for that time before they look into your application again and make it process one step further.
On my prior applications i've seen not once that due date might be also past due and still no further action was initiated , nor the date was changed so i would not put much attention on it. It is just set one year from your AOR more or less.
