This is interesting... can you kindly share the link where this case could be read, if there is any? thanks.
The applicant I'm talking about is in our lab. He is not in these forums.

However as Pari_p said, it seems that they have made changes to their criteria. I know people who got PR with the same situation before. But unfortunately this change has come into action at such an unlucky time for the current applicants.

I wish best luck for everyone here anyway.

This wait is killing me, I am checking the forum few times an hour to check if someone from December would get medicals. Nothing is moving on CEC, my friends who applied through PNP in December already got their passports stamped.

I am still thinking to apply AINP which has a new stream called Alberta Work Experience Class, as getting nominated through province is free of charge and comes in a month. Just in case if my CEC application has any issues after all seeing all these rejections.

I have a question about the new Experience Category in AINP, it says to mention if I have already applied for PR under any category and also requests the file number and status. Do you think it will be a problem for AINP nomination?

if you check FAQ questions its says you can apply for both. I regret every day going through CEC :(...Its painful waiting time plus their stupid rule of convocation its just too painful

I even had a opportunity to apply through PNP, I was ready in Sep 2012 itself for PNP. But for some reason I thought CEC is employer irrespective and I can even leave country when file is under processing. for that reason I waited few more months and applied for CEC in Dec. Now I regret my decision.

Do you guys really think PNP is faster?
Official processing time at CPP Ottawa for PNP is 16 months as opposed to 12 month for CEC.

I dont think PNP goes to ottawa any more....processing time is usually 8 month. Medicals are received in 2-3 months

Can you Show me the official source which says that PNP is processed in 8 months.
Exceptional cases are always there as in the case of CEC where one or two guys got their PR in six months.

Here is the link for processing time of PNP
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/provincial.asp

Only 2 office in NA ( New York and Ottawa)

May be i made a mistake then :)
My company was insisting on filling through PNP route and i decided to file using CEC route.

If something happens with this application i will go with PNP route as well.

Thanks for letting me know what GCMS stands for.
From what I read on the link given in order to apply you have to be in Canada.
I'm currently out of Canada. So do I have to be in Canada to apply or not?

If so, is there any way to get an update while being out or Canada?

Thanks

If you are not in Canada, someone else (a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or someone physically present in Canada) will have to obtain them for you under the Access to Information Act. This can be a relative, friend or sponsor, or a commercial service. For this there is a $5 fee (more if you use a commercial service), and you will have to provide consent.

Average time you will get your GCMS notes: 30 days
