I mailed my fingerprints in with credit card info as payment. Now Bank of America records has been compromised and they are cancelling my card in two weeks and sending a new one with a new number. This has happened before so I am sure it will continue to happen.

How can I keep my background check from being rejected?

What if this happens again after I send the entire application in to immigration?

AAAARRRGGGHHH!

Oh dear, well I'd say contact the bank immediately and tell them that if your card is not processable this could seriously affect your life, and you give permission for the charge to go through. Don't let them cancel the card at least for that charge, and if this happens a lot I suggest getting a new credit card from somewhere more reliable? Just a visa or mastercard debit card which any bank can issue will solve this problem.

If that doesn't work, there may be a way to contact the FBI to change the CC number, basically your request is just sitting in a queue waiting to process, so I think it would be possible to change the information. You might want to try sending them a new credit card payment form with a letter explaining what happened and then they could add this to your submission.

Thanks, it is a visa card from Bank of America.

Our credit card expired while waiting for the FBI report. When they went to process our payment they contacted us via email telling us our payment was declined and asked us to call in to provide a different credit card. Didn't seem to hurt our processing time that much. At least we knew when it was being processed. ;D

Thanks DanOCan. You saved me a lot of worrying. :)
