I eagerly checked eCAS today hoping that with all the May applicants seeing DM that they might throw a [Thanksgiving turkey] bone to an April applicant, but no luck. :(

Honestly at this point I'm just amazed that in this age of information, where they are certainly aware resources like this exist, they have the gall to claim that "Applications are processed in the order in which they arrive." That is some bold-faced BS when people from February are still waiting and people from May are getting approved. I can't wait to be finished with this crap.

Hi pals,

I got DM too, just right now, checked on ECAS, it is really a very special Thanksgiving gift !!!

I am not US citizen, so I think I'd wait for a passport request (PPR), right?

Hi, I have the same inquiry. My wife is from a visa exempt country so I am hoping that we won't be asked to send her passport in? Did you receive any email or anything other than DM on ecas?

We got DM this morning as well.

Congrats on DM!!

No any regarding email yet. Actually during the last half year of my application, I only received an email from CIC once, on Oct. 23 with that famous batch email.

I am not a US citizen nor a visa-exempt country one. So I think I would expect a passport request.

Some people in this forum said that CIC would ask for passport of someone, even from a visa-exempt country, for stamping an immigrant visa in some rare cases. So that's some kind of random thing but with low probability. I am not pretty sure what your case would be. But I think you would directly receive your COPR without being asked for passport stamping with high chances.

Hey All,

Quick question, in the Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409), the question 1B) says: "Check the box to indicate if you jointly own property other than your residence." Are they referring to a house/real estate when they say "own another property" or it can be other stuff like furniture or other joint purchases? Please advise.

Thanks! Let's see what happens. Once we receive the COPR, then we just have to land? Is there anything else that needs to be done or that we need to wait for?

Hi :)
The property only refers to a house/ real estate that you will have some sort also of written proof with both of your names. There is a space underneath that you can add additional things, but you don't need to if you have at least a few boxes ticks on top (if you have life insurance in each other names as beneficiary etc.)

:(

I had delayed getting GCMS notes about a month ago thinking I'd be through the process before they arrived, but I'm feeling far less optimistic these days. I put in a request two days ago to see what's up.

They will probably request it. For visa exempt countries a passport photocopy would be sufficient. For me, DM showed up on ecas a day after PPR.

I sent my PPR docs on Nov 20 and received my COPR on Nov 26.
So a couple hours later I drove down to Prescott border and completed the process.

Best luck to everyone!

stephcy: I wish for a speedy process. (me to kalo na sas er8ei to mikrouli :))

I just received my passport request on Friday after going DM 9 days ago. I hold a multiple entry work visa that is valid until 2017. It appears there is no escaping the passport request if you are not from an exempt country.
