Thanks! Haha, right? We were so close to that one year mark...

I guess they count reviewing the medical and then sticking the app back in inventory for months as "in process" these days. My last notes from June only had my medical passed with nothing else started and listed my file as "in fcp inventory" I got "in process" Aug 21 or so, but it says since April 8. :p I'm due for more notes next week and we'll see what went on in the months of July and August, but my guess is not much of anything at this rate. Sorry to be a downer, but I'm feeling pretty discouraged and impatient.

Let me know if your file is still at inventory when you receive notes I don't receive mine til Sept 17 :-X and I know we both have almost the same identical timeline.

So, what all do the VO employees do while the cases they're assigned to sits in inventory for months at a time?

I agree with you. I got my notes a few days ago. My ECAS changed to IP mid August, with the line saying my app had been IP since May. I check my notes, and the last entry is for May 7th, saying it was put in inventory. Nothing has been started except my medical. I'm hoping it doesn't reflect on how soon the application will actually be finished, but just from the look of it it doesn't look very promising. I'll continue to be optimistic.

Hello all, Haven't checked this forum or ecas for a few months...just assumed we had to wait until December or so for a decision. Thought I would check now that my husband is about to head overseas for a few weeks and saw that it says 'In process' on ecas. For some reason I can't update my info on the spreadsheet, so thought I would write a note instead. After reading through what some people are saying about 'in process' possibly not meaning much, I won't get my hopes up... Will cross my fingers and toes though!!! :)

For immigration, other types of visas. CPC-Ottawa processes express entry and other types of applications.

Our basic intuition that there's an office full of people somewhere really isn't correct. CIC has some 420 full-time-equivalent personnel for the entire family-class program, worldwide.

My application has been "in process" since August 21st or so, 2 days after I received an email request for more evidence that my sponsor is living in Canada and the RPRF (which I had already paid upfront). I sent more info the same day. Today, I have received an email request for a police certificate. I applied in January for PR, but FedEx'd my police certificate to CIC in April. I have two sets of GCMS notes that say it was received. There is a spot in the letter that says: "If you have already submitted your police certificates, do not apply for or submit new documents. We will contact you once your application has been reviewed by a visa officer." Is this just a standard form they are sending to everyone now? What should I do? Should I just ignore it? What if they lost my FBI certificate? :o I hate to ignore it and get rejected for having an incomplete application. Should I send a reply detailing the date I sent it in and the date they claimed it received?

I just got the exact same Police Certificate Request email just now from Ottawa (submitted it up-front)

..and also got the request for proof of intent on the to return on the 21st of August along with payment of RPRF and submission of medical (submitted both of these up front too)

It seems very much like an automated part of Ottawa's system so I'm going with ignoring it as it says to.

Seems like a positive sign though if it means they've processed the additional documents they requested a few weeks ago and are just doing security now : :D

I also received the request for police certificate today, even though I had submitted an original copy in my original application in October 2014.
Good to hear that others have received the same request, would seem to just be a generic info rather than case specific.

One more police certificate request here! I have also submitted it upfront.

So do we reply to the email saying that we have already submitted or do we just ignore the email?

Send them a follow up email, when I did so regarding the additional documents CPC-Ottawa actually applied and stated every is up to date.
