Well, Ottawa should work in order of receipt. It is not fair for all the applicants that are still waiting to hear DM. Their are a lot of applicants from August, September, October and November waiting. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for everyone, but for the ones still waiting it breaks my heart.

They do first assessment of applications in order of receipt. Once the assessment is done, it then goes in to one of several queues depending on red flags and such. If an application is missing some documentation/information, they don't hold up the whole line while they wait for that missing information. They put it aside and take the next one. Depending on what queue your application was based in and if there were any issues with the application, these explain why some people wait longer than others.

July and August had forms that updated right after people had sent off their applications and they had to resend new ones, or at least August did I believe?. I'd have to go read back through it all in case I'm off or something, but I do remember that seemed to be what started to slow the timelines down a bit back then.. September has been getting some movement as you know albeit all out of receipt of order, as I should be waiting behind others in line still in our thread and fully agree on that 100%.. The very good news to hold on to is that they are finally moving again where it had seemed like forever all you could hear was silence and see cobwebs forming. Let's hope that many waiting from Aug and Sept will be processed through June, and Oct applicants at the end of June and into July or sooner for all if possible!

EDIT: Exactly keesio! And that makes total sense on how to proceed through a myriad of applications that they have in their workload. If they didn't move ahead most people would be waiting forever due to other applicants mistakes or red flags etc..

It seems the whole months of Oct and Nov have heard nothing, only one doc request for Oct, send us something. If we're missing something, send a docs request. If we're red flagged and moving onto an interview, dang it lets us know. It seems all us Oct and Nov applicants have some major issues going on since we were completely skipped right over.

Or they could just lose 500+ pages of your application and screw you over.. but I am not keeping track or anything lol

Mine showed the process starting on May 28th and it already shows DM. Yours must be coming very soon. I think Ottawa has woken up.

Just had a thought. DM's from January are *flying* in. People are baffled, understandably, many weren't expecting to be approved so fast because people from September, October, November, December etc haven't heard a peep.

Chris Alexander and CIC in general have been getting a lot of heat in the media for their embarrassing shortcomings, like the 62% error rate at Vegreville. Do you think they're trying to process 2015 applications FASTER so that they can report, say, how "quickly" they processed apps in 2015? So that they can make themselves look better?? Politics and all that.. I wouldn't be surprised.

Are they being approved from the Ottawa VO though? I looked at the Ottawa spreadsheet but I don't really trust it as it doesn't seem to keep an accurate count and some dates are out of sync to what line they should be on etc..

I am one of the December applicants from Ottawa VO - Just noticed my DM yesterday. I am baffled. I wasn't checking my status that often (maybe once a week or less) since I didn't think it would come so soon since you guys are still waiting for yours. My heart goes out to you all from 2014.
