Seems half August apps (myself included) have yet to be finalized in receiving DM or CoPR. So you NEVER know what the time line will be. So stupid...lol.

:( I know.. its so frustrating!

I checked ECAS today and saw that my status changed to DM - "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision." After you get this, what do you get from the CIC? I hope it's an email...
No, you don't get an email after a DM. You just have to wait until they prepare the document and put it in the mail and the post office delivers it to you.

The only email if they need additional documents from you. If they're happy with what you sent, you won't get an email, just a paper in an ordinary envelope.

I better call them ASAP about our address then - thanks!

Hello new member here! Can't believe I've only just found this message board, learnt a lot in just a few days of reading.

I have to agree, with your sentiments. Our application went in on August 13th 2014 and we had docs requested in April and have heard nothing since. We sent the documents in really quickly too. I've got into the annoying habit of checking ECAS every day which is just depressing. It is kind of reassuring to know other people are going through the same thing though.

You sound like a good candidate for note ordering! Have you tried it yet?

I haven't actually but thanks we'll look into it. Though we thought the application had to be 'in process' before we can order them?

You can order them anytime. I only submitted my application in January, but I ordered notes in May to make sure they attached my FBI report to my application (sent it in after SA). It takes 30 days to get them, but it's well worth the wait for the peace of mind. My ecas status is still at "application received."

You can order your GCMS notes at any time.

Here's a walkthrough on how to do it, they will be sent to you in 30 days after requesting them (give or take a few business day)

Thank you so much for this, we will definitely look into this :D

To add another data point, I just checked the website and found out I am in process. They started processing my application on June 1.

Mine showed the process starting on May 28th and it already shows DM. Yours must be coming very soon. I think Ottawa has woken up.

Good Stuff, and I must admit I am surprised. I check the forum daily and I was estimating early August as a moment when to have news and / or to ask for my case notes. Also, although I live in the US I am not American, so even if I am from a non visa country I was worrying it might take a tad bit longer than American applicants. After reading some posters'stories I reordered the wedding certificate and the FBI certificate to be ready in case they would ask them.
I hope the in Process - DM stint goes smooth ;D

Same here, I just ordered a 2nd FBI report just a week ago. I am a US citizen but newly (2012) although I was a greencard holder for twenty some years. I am not a typical fast track applicant, so I am still a bit freaked out and worried, but after having seen your post, I am starting to feel better that maybe my DM is not a rejection letter after all.

The typical fast track is for US citizens. It doesn't matter if you are newly naturalized or not.
