I am new to this thread, and may be a bit early in the process (my outland submission from US was received November 4, 2014), but I am trying to figure out a few things. At the time of submission, we didn't have the FBI fingerprint information on file. When I received sponsorship, I sent the FBI report to CPC Ottawa with the case number. I tracked it to the building, but I am concerned that since it's our original, that it didn't get into the file. I know CPC Ottawa doesn't respond to emails about document receipt, so has anyone done the same thing, and had any problems? As well, what is the current estimated timeline for US outland applications does anyone know?

I did the exact same thing, and so far no issues. I never received a confirmation that the police clearance was matched with my file, but at least I know it got to the office according to FedEx. I'm thinking that the average for US outland apps is looking to be around 8 months at the moment, but it looks like it may be speeding up a bit. Hoping so! I'd love to have my PR by the end of summer.

If your tracking says it was delivered, I'm sure it will be fine.

My GCMS notes stated that my FBI check had been attached to my file. Have you ordered your case notes recently?

I was checking out the spreadsheet for last year and it looks like the Outland apps are cyclical at CPC-O. In Feb it starts to speed up and it is really quick for a few months, then bogs down again for the June/July apps.

I think CPC-O processes a lot of the other types of apps too, and those may only be open at certain times.

I would love for my wife to be a PR before September 7th. Means I don't have to pay 3K+ for tuition for 4 months (I work at the University so I may talk with them and see if they can process her as a PR even though she is not landed yet)

I think the Express Entry program that started in January didn't help.

I'm putting the Ottawa spreadsheet in my signature. I know most people follow the one for the month they applied and I keep an eye on threads going all the way back to July or August of last year to get an idea of how processing is going in Ottawa, but it might be useful for some to have it more visible. rhcohen had it in her signature, but she seems to have disappeared, at least temporarily. This way it won't get lost somewhere deep in the thread and give some guidance to new applicants.

We thought it would be sent electronically because on the CSQ it says CIC has been notified. It was NOT for us. I had ordered my notes and saw the only thing pending was the CSQ. We sent it and 3 weeks later we had Decision Made. Not sure about sending an unsolicited copy, but for sure send the copy once they ask. All in all I don't think it adds much more than 2 weeks to the processing.

Thank you. I may as well send an unsolicited copy, if they haven't opened my file yet then it can't add to the process.

For requesting notes, is there a practical difference between the electronic notes and the physical file?

Actually I have a similar question. I am sponsoring my US spouse outland and when I received SA, the email said that the application had been transferred "abroad" for processing at CPP-Ottawa. Why are some apps kept for processing in Mississauga and others sent to CPP-Ottawa? Apologies if this has been discussed in earlier threads.
