Congrats AmericanGirlinLove!
I looked at your timeline and I see they asked your passport in August; did you hit any bumps in the road since then or is it just the Standard for Ottawa?

Yes I did my FBI clearance incorrectly and had to send for it again which took FOREVERRRRR! I received it the day after Boxing Day and had it overnighted. From what I see, if I had turned everything in correctly at once then I would have had everything completed by now.

IN PROCESS!!!!! :o Our file went to Application Received on March February 3, 2014 and sometime between last Thursday night and today (early Saturday morning) it changed to In Process March 3, 2015 (last Tuesday). There is life in Ottawa!

They asked for additional material last June and some of that we couldn't get them till late November, but it's been sitting at AR ever since.

Until now i haven't received any update on my PR application status, still : Application received on May 26, 2014. I have an open work permit and my husband and son are already here in Canada. I applied Open work permit for my husband and study permit for my son, they enter Canada last January 17, 2015. Our permit will be expired on August 21 2015. Does anybody knows how long should i wait for PPR after paying the RPRF?

Good news BeShoo! Did you end up sending the physical copy of your CSQ? Or was this from when you sent it by email in October?

No, I never did send the physical copy of the CSQ, so I assume it's from the email copy I sent. I was almost going to send the physical one as well when I came across someone on this board who got a request for additional information from Manila. They told her that sending anything by multiple methods would cause delays, so I decided that the same could be true of Ottawa.

I guess i should join this thread as my application is going to Ottawa visa office :)

If any agents at CIC read this, I want to let you know that this American fully embraces the Timmy's lifestyle. Way better than Dunkin' Donuts. :P

OMG yes. I get so much crap for it too. ;)

Hello guys,

I'm from Holland and my wife is sponsoring me. I had an upfront medical exam on Sept. 4 2014. CIC Mississauga received our application on Sept 12. On Oct 28 - Sponsor Approval. CIC send our package to CPC in Ottowa, instead of Vienna, due the fact I'm a Dutch citizen and have chosen for an outland procedure.
Since October 28 , we have radio silence and the ECAS still indicates: Application received.

I will follow this topic , as our case is treated in Ottawa

Hi ,

My case is being processed in CPP-Ottawa but my country is not visa exempt. However my Ecas changed to decision made last week and they have not requested for ppr yet. Does anyone have similar experience and what did you do? Thanks

wow - I haven't heard about that one yet! Which country are you from? Might be best to post this on the main forum for feedback though if I were you, I'd make a call to CIC right away today to ask about that.

If you're outside Canada, dial 1-613-944-4000 and follow the instructions to hopefully get to someone live.

this is quite normal. there are plenty of people who require visas who are being processed in ottawa.

I'm not sure why you sent a nasty reply. What I haven't heard of is DM being offered to someone who should have received a PPR. If s/he needs a visa in the passport, how was DM offered without a PPR? Sounds like an error. Personally I would be following it up if you expected to send your passport in to get PR.

Please keep your comments to yourself if they aren't useful - thanks

i'm not sure how saying "this is normal and plenty of people are processeed in ottawa" is considered "nasty"? unforunately, i can't control the interpretation of the words i write. i was stating a fact. there was no emotion in my words, as far as i am concerned.

Generally, for those who are visa exempt DM means a letter was sent with instructions about how to send the passport for processing. Since a majority of Ottawa applicants are visa exempt, they do things a little differently i believe. The PPR is done AFTER DM, not BEFORE. again, this seems to be inline with people's experiences at ottawa.

I appreciate you editing your post after you initially posted it. The one that started "I don't know why you would..."

Hopefully your current post will be helpful to Siva (who is from the a "non visa exempt" country) which is the only thing that I was trying to do by providing a number. The process is already stressful enough as it is.
