from what i understand criminality and security are the last steps before issuing the visa, so it doesn't necessarily mean there isn't an officer currently reviewing your file.

Yeah I've heard that aswell, but it just seems to be taking forever...is that a long time for criminality?since September to now?is that normal?

I don't think that actually means much, because basically everyone's notes say that, and yes, most say they've been started months before getting the notes. i don't think it's a determination about what is happening with your file at all. for all we know they can be "started" as soon as the file reaches the visa office, and it stays that way until approval.

Other than stating that they got our requested documents we sent in,back in November, there is no other updates.

We emailed our CSQ because that's what they asked us to do in June, but we took so long that they sent another request in October and in that one, they told us to mail it. When we finally did get it, we emailed it and haven't heard anything more from them since. I'm thinking about snail-mailing it as well, just in case.

Theoretically, Quebec does send the CSQ (or at least the information that it was approved) to the appropriate visa office, but I've heard of many people who had to send their extra copy because the visa office supposedly never got the one from the Quebec immigration office.

BeShoo,

You are very right about the MICC in Quebec sending the CSQ and the visa office claiming they never got one. My CSQ got approved 02/12 and I called CPC-O on Thursday and they claimed they had not yet received it. I find it very odd because my husband called the MICC in Quebec and they assured him that they sent it. Ill just wait and see if CPC-O requests for my CSQ.

Hello everyone
Wondering if anyone here sponsored a spouse with dependant children from her/his previous marriage? I am a US citizen married to a Canadian Citizen. We do not know how to handle the "occupation" question for the dependant child which is in 7th grade. The child has been attending school in Toronto without study permit. We are scare of CIC revoking Outland application if we let them know about the child attending school while waiting for mother to receive her PR.
Anyone? Any answer will be greatly appreciated.

Are 7th graders required to have a study permit? I was wondering about that too. I don't have custody of my kids, so they are still in the US, but I was wondering how it would work out if they ever wanted to move here with us.

My daughter was enrolled in school with no issues. The school didn't question her legal status ( school is in Toronto). My concern is regarding immigrations reaction to her attending school with no study permit.

Hello!

I was looking on another thread and saw something about being able to apply for OHIP while awaiting PR. I looked into this online and is says that all I need is proof of eligibility -or- "Citizenship and Immigration Canada has confirmed that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada".

My question is, what would be considered confirmation of elegibilty? Would it be any of the emails I have recieved in the past? Thanks in advance for any help, experiences or advice. :)
