Hello everyone!

For all the March, April and May 2013 applicants still waiting on PPR/COPR, here is an update on my case.

App. Filed.......: May 30, 2013
AOR Received.: June 25, 2013
Med's Done....: April 30, 2013
Passport Req..: None
VISA ISSUED...: None
LANDED..........: Soon I hope

The MP office finally got back to us and told us that our application was in process in Ottawa and that the medicals were extended. On April 10, 2014, my common-law partner recieved an email from CPP-O requesting additional information (proof).

We have not recieved a PPR as of yet.

Our original application had a ton of supporting docs, but I guess they wanted more. We actually have a lot more proof within the past year including joint purchase of a vehicle.

I also completed the app on my own without the use of a lawyer.

Any other April/May/June 2013 still waiting?

We filed our application on the same day!!! Nothing new here yet besides the "medical results have been received" update last December.

It seems so sporadic. Are common law couples being processed slightly slower? Or is there no rhyme or reason?

I am married. But I don't think common-law should take longer.

I agree. Was just curious as it seems that they are asked to provide more proof than married couples, so perhaps it takes longer to go through everything and verify the legitimacy of their relationship. But alas, it really seems like there is no pattern.
Hoping all the spring 2013 applicants have success very soon!

Hi Everyone, I need some advice/info/insight/wisdom ASAP

My husband and I have an outland application going on right now, we were just approved for Sponsorship and in our SA letter we were told the rest of the application as off to CPC Ottawa - that is the visa office I was directed to for my application. So when we get our medicals finished they needed to be sent to the address for CPC Ottawa along with any other information we wish to provide as relationship proof...

I did not have a US address on my application because I do not have one. . . I am visiting (living) in Canada with my husband so we wrote his address. . .

I spoke to someone in the call centre today about answering questions for my medicals that need to be done, and they told my my application is in Los Angeles and that it wouldn't be in Ottawa unless it was Inland.

Am I stupid? Did I do something wrong?? Everywhere even now that I go to check where my application should've been sent is telling me CPC Ottawa. PLEASE HELP!

Sometimes Ottawa will send files to LA for processing for no apparent reason, maybe just to shift the workload. Regarding the comment that only Inland are processed in Ottawa, it is the first I ever heard of it and sounds like nonsense. Maybe others can add some insight.

My thought was only the ones that maybe required interview or further "investigations" will be transferred to LA.

Our application is seriously so simple and easy, we met young, I have been to meet all of his family, he has met all of mine, we have tons of pictures, letters, never been married before obviously, no children, no criminal backgrounds I don't even have a speeding ticket.

I seriously am in disbelief. This throws all of our plans up in the air...

Given that they think that Outland applications are not processed in Ottawa, I'd say you did not speak with a knowledgeable call centre agent. ALL Outland applications for those lawfully admitted to Canada or the US (as well as US citizens) are initially sent to CPP-O. In some cases, CPP-O (Ottawa) will forward the file to Los Angeles.

If you really want to know, order your GCMS (electronic case) notes. That will tell you which office currently has your file.

Congrats! How did the landing go?

Landed at about midnightish. It was pretty quiet. The officers seemed sleepy. We were done in about 15-20 mins probably. They didn't really look at anything other than telling me the 2 in 5 years requirement and that I have to live with my husband for 2 years, and signing and stamping the COPR and B4. It was really a bit anti-climactic in the end.

Took me a lot longer to get my SIN the other day, and the lady there had to check that it wouldn't be a problem that my passport was stamped for the 12th of April but my COPR was signed on the 13th. I swear they just try to look for a way to deny you for things.
