My husband will be landing 7 days! I'm so very excited!

I do have a question though. If we need to visit the US before he receives his PR card, do we need any special documents or will whatever he gets at landing suffice? One of his relatives is quite ill, and if anything happens, we might need to do a quick trip back to the states.

Has anyone else had to travel back to the states before they got their PR card? How did it go?

Question for you guys, has anyone applied with an older child, i.e. my daughter was still under the age 22 threshold when we applied... wondering what that might do to the timing

kandc, I would say that's a pretty good timeline for "missing" the first PPR. I'd be happy with it. Anything under Ottawa's published times and I'll think I won the lottery.

Speaking of lottery, I almost won $11 mil last night. My ticket was literally 1 digit off. Mine was 02 and the winning number was 01. The rest of mine match. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

That'll probably be my best shot at glory. :'(
I am definitely thrilled with it! I know how lucky those of us who have gone through the process so quickly are. I can only hope the same for everyone else... just waiting as long as we did was bad enough!

Also, that SUCKS about the lottery! Lol

We are landing tomorrow and have exactly the same question. We'll be asking and will post the answer tomorrow night after we get home.

I hope you got the bonus, too, because that's not too shabby a win ;)

There's no second prize for matching most of them? Bummer.
The good news is my husband sent me a fake picture of "our ticket" that he found online of one of the 5/6 bonus winners. So I still have my lucky shot!

The bad news is I fell for that trick. AGAIN.

Pleasant landing experience yesterday in St Stephen, NB. Officer was very helpful and offered helpful information for the future. The only issue was that they expected us to export the vehicle we were travelling in at that time even though we were not prepared to do so. We had everything listed on the B4 form for goods to follow since we plan on moving at a future date once we have jobs lined up. They did not keep a copy of the form, apparently not needed until we move. Overall experience for the PR process was good, just lengthy. The only time we were contacted by CIC was sponsor approval, ppr request then receipt of COPR. This forum was very helpful in seeing what others were going through and what to expect of the process.

Well, our GCMS notes arrived (29 days from the date requested), and they show that all of the supplemental docs and photos we sent to Ottawa were received and entered into our file on March 21, and the VO has apparently been sitting on our file ever since.

In the notes it says they didn't get our photos in the initial application (which means they lost them). And the notes don't reflect the copy of our new lease in Montreal that we emailed this week (provided additionally to further demonstrate my intent to reside in Canada - and in the hopes of prompting the VO to finalize our application), but since we just sent that to them on Tuesday, I wouldn't expect to see it in the notes anyhow. I guess we'll re-request the notes next week to see if anything is different.

We're forging ahead with our moving plans, but the wait is annoying.

We had a very pleasant landing experience today at the Sarnia Blue Water Bridge CBSA Office. The Immigration Officer had a much appreciated dry sense of humour and was very pleasant and helpful. The entire process took about 30 minutes. She kept the original B4 and B4A forms and made copies for us. We asked the question about traveling back into the US before the PR card arrives and we were told it was okay to do that on land but not by air until the PR card has arrived. You just need to have the signed COPR document to cross on land. We now start the journey towards citizenship.

I would like to thank all the people on this forum for all the help, advice, humour and positive encouragement. This is a grinding process and keeping a positive outlook during it would not be possible without the support of the people on here. I hope and pray that all of you still awaiting your application decisions get the results that you are seeking and that you appreciate that you are living in the best country in the world. I know I am ;)
