Whats the current time frame for the PR card?

I don't think there's an accurate timeline to go by. I landed at the beginning of October and am still waiting. Every time I call the call centre, they say they're delayed and keep telling me to wait a few more weeks.

Hello Rugrat...I am very much depressed as of the moment. Yes, I will contact my MP because this is not right anymore. I am trying to formulate the best way to say it so I get my husband’s case looked after!:( Any news for you my friend?

I will be landing on the 30th. Cannot wait...

I submit a GCMS request on Dec 21 and just got the results now. Essentially it's sitting in "review required" and has seen zero movement since they requested more info on Dec 2. I guess that means I'll be awaiting indefinitely until they decide to dust off the pile we're sitting in for review.

Hello Spinning_sponsor

Can you confirm if there is anything that they did wrong with your application or is there any mistakes they have commited that's why you're in the "Review Required Queue"? Because they made a mistake with my husband's application... They though his nephews and niece are his children! I am beyond appalled. sigh

Our application was complete and no known issues as far as I can tell. The only reason it's requiring a review is because they asked for more information "proof of Common-law relationship" on Dec 2, which we sent, but they haven't bothered looking at or reviewing yet.

That is so insane! I think they make random mistakes like this all of the time! It just sucks that they have to make them as they are supposed to be detail oriented and knowledgeable. I am hoping they you and I will get our applications approved soon! :(

Hey, wondering if any non Americans who had their files sent to Ottawa could share their timeline? Thanks

My intended office was New Delhi, India.

Permanent Resident Application Status: In Process

1. We received ...'s application for permanent residence on October 19, 2015.
2. We started processing ...'s application on December 17, 2015.
3. Medical results have been received.

AOR1: Dec 8, 2015
SA: Dec 16, 2015

So I dug a bit more and found the following in the GMCS notes:

"Recommendation: REVIEW REQUIRED. Documentation on file shows cohabitation period of August 2014 to April 2015"

Good to know the person who initially looked at our file was inept. We had a clearly notarized letter stating we lived at a different residence (my parents) between May and July 2014. Now we're paying the price of a much longer wait simply because someone doesn't know how to read. *sigh*

Does anyone here have any experience with how long a review takes? The only other posting I could find was CharisseyB's who has apparently been in review since October, which means I'm probably looking at another 3 months MINIMUM for them to even get to ours.

I think it took about 2 months for us to get DM after seeing Review Required in GMCS. When it happens it usually means initial rep has no issues with your application and they put it in a new queue where a final authority can make an approval for COPR, so that's a good sign that you see this. Just make sure you send that missing document or perhaps they just lost it.

Has anyone heard from Ottawa since the new year?

Thanks for some good news on the 2 months part. If it's only 2 months I will be extremely happy, although I haven't really heard any updates coming out of Ottawa for many people on this forum since Christmas break so I'm still somewhat skeptical.

We did up another set of letters from both of our parents, and notarized them, and got a non-notorized letter from our landlord as well as 2015's rent receipts. I'm hoping Ottawa actually looks at this info soon and gives us a stamp of approval. My partner and I are engaged and hoping to be married later this year but that might be tough if approval isn't done by then and she can't get into the country =/

Received an email document request from Ottawa on January 11, 2016 asking for my Quebec Selection Certificate, which I provided via return email. Got an email reply a couple days later that said "The information you provided has been updated in our system. Please note that we cannot confirm when your file will be ready for finalization". Thinking of ordering GCMS notes in a week or two.

Just got an email from cic that has said check CIC – enter your application number / UCI to get status of application

And when i logged in it has a note saying

Note: This means you or anyone else will no longer be able to access your application status and address information on this website. You will have to contact us to learn about changes to your application status and to update your address information.

I'm trying to contact them now. My application is still in process. Any ideas what this means?? Trying to contact them now.

i applied may 20th 2015
