I can provide a sense of humor(I corrected the spelling for you hehe)! I try to be as helpful as possible around here but I think some people don't appreciate my straight up honest approach to advice :-[

Thank you, OhCanadiana. :)

Has anyone from CPP received a letter requesting medical to be done. I tried to get mine done on Nov. 1ST and they said I have to use the new form with bar codes specific to my file sent out by Canada. When I sent CPP an email questioning they said a letter will be sent out. Curious if anyone knows their timeframe.

Thank you for the information ahead if time.

Most of us did our medicals before sending out our applications, but maybe someone here will still be able to give you more info.

Shylox is right - if you look at the spreadsheet, most people have been sending them in with their sponsorship applications, so you might not find too many people who have encountered the medical forms with bar codes. But please let everyone know how it works out so other people in your situation know how the process will go!

Will the CPP-Ottawa ADD another 12 months to the existing 26 month processing time we have for Pakistan or 12 months are a part of those 26 months?? File was transferred in September, nothing since then.

If your file was transferred to Ottawa from another VO, you keep the processing time of the original VO. So if your processing time was 26 months, it is still 26 months. You should count those 26 months starting with September, I think.

Actually, the time is from the receipt of the original visa office (I can dig up the citation out of the OP - I've quoted it before - I think it is in OP 1).

CIC cannot "reset the clock" simply by moving your file from one office to another.

You're totally right, my apologies! It's been one of those days, ha. Keeping my mouth shut now :-X lol

I never got an AOR from Islamabad, Pakistan. I was told file is being transferred to VO abroad, but upon finding out from call centre, it was in Ottawa. So confused !

Yes, OP 1 "Procedures" Section 5.19:

For assessment purposes, visa offices receiving a transferred file must respect the original date on which the application was received as the “lock-in” date. For processing purposes, all processing steps for the files transferred to an office, including the scheduling of interviews, should be the same as for all other applications received in the office on the date corresponding to the “lock-in” date of the received file. This means that an application that is received in Paris in July 2002 and transferred to New Delhi in March 2003, would enter the New Delhi queue as of July 2002.

Ottawa is a visa office abroad.

CIC is just not very good at geography, since in their world Ottawa isn't in Canada. ;-)

Canadian husband sponsor, immigrations called his workplace today to I guess verify his employment. It is a seasonal position so he is currently on EI and they requested a copy of his ROE, also asked how how he was living financially. I thought once they approved the sponsor this was all checked. Also didn't expect a phone call. At least this means my app is being looked at and he said we should hear in a couple of weeks. anyone else have this experience?

That seems odd to me, I've never heard of them calling employers before, especially after the sponsor has already been approved. But I suppose it makes sense because as the sponsor their responsible to maintain that eligibility throughout the sponsorship process, which is 3 years.

I sure hope they don't do that to my wife, because she doesn't even work at the same place anymore. But they should know that because we've sent 2 visitor visa extensions for me and both have included her new employers info as proof that she can support me while I'm here.

I thought it was odd to after he had been approved as a sponsor, in fact shocked is more like it. Buy the good is at least I know they are looking at it.
