Note that you also must have it EXPORTED from the US and that has to be started 72 hours before you show up at the border (I've read plenty of posts about this over the years). So you bring the title and what-not to the US side and export the vehicle (again, with 72 hours advance notice). Then you enter the Canadian side and they send you to secondary.

One VERY important fact that I think was missed (I know because it completely screwed me up on when I could export my car from the US) is that your car MUST be on US soil for 72 hours prior to importing. I tried to contact the office where I was exporting a week prior and he told me not to contact him until my car was back in the USA and that I needed to have the car there 72 hours prior to exporting. Keep in mind, too, that if you contact them outside of business hours the 72 hours does not start until they respond to your email. I emailed them on a Saturday at 8AM and they didn't respond until Monday at 9AM. I was told 72 hours from that point. So if you are living in Canada prior to importing your car make plans to go back to the USA for 3-4 days. I learned the hard way.

Question about bringing personal belongings into Canada....we finally got decision made and my husbands stuff is in a storage unit in Port Huron....so when he flagpoles do we fill out a B4 for the stuff he has with him and a B4A for stuff to follow or a B4A for both....thanks for the help

My hubby did all the paperwork, the stuff to follow does need to be listed separately. We only used B4A forms because everything will come later, all we did was land yesterday, and then had dinner at Swiss Chalet, and dinner was never more wonderful.

Thanks!! I have been actively looking for 3 months and FINALLY got a job. I had been getting very depressed recently Good luck getting all of your paperwork done on this end. It is hard work but very worth it.

So when he lands he should have a B4 + B4A(s) for stuff he is bringing and then a B4 + B4A(s) for "goods to follow". If he isn't bringing anything in when landing, just the "goods to follow' B4/B4A is needed.

As of today, my status in ECAS has changed from "In Process" to "Decision Made"! I have not yet received an email from Ottawa yet stating what the decision is. Did not get a PPR, so hoping it's a positive result.

We didn't fill out a B4, just the B4A (6 pages). We made two sets, one set for us and one for them. The immigration officer stamped everything, had me sign, date, and initial in places he pointed to and he said we were good to go. Date said yyyy/mm/dd and I automatically wrote mm/dd/yyyy, and then started to panick, but he said "that's alright". Like I said, he was very nice.

Ok, my DH just told me that WE didn't fill a B4 out, but the immigration officer filled one out for us, so we DID have a B4 as well as the B4A's that we filled out.

Just landed 3pm Eastern time today

Everything went pretty smoothly and took us about 20 minutes. 8) Then we went and had a nice supper at Swiss Chalet, and even ordered dessert! It all still seems surreal to me. YaY!!! Thanks to all who have helped me here, this board is awesome!
