With a document request you're often looking at closer to 50-60 days, though the summer might add a bit of time because of VO vacations, so you're still within the norm. If you emailed the requested docs and passport copies, it will likely be faster than if you had to mail the docs.
Thanks Ivan. I ended up mailing in all the documents - definitely should have done it through email but didn't know that was an option at the time. We are at 47 days from them receiving the documents (tracked via Canada Post), so we are still under the norm right now with the additional document request.

Keeping our fingers crossed for a decision soon!

I haven't gotten mine yet either, so don't fret. We are at 27 days :/ I'm still hoping to land for my birthday, which will be 31 days - exactly 1 month since PPR.

It's been 90 days for me so far. I got a PPR with no request for docs. I later found out that they "never received" (aka lost) my passport scan. It's been 50 days since they received it the second time. Still nothing.
::) How annoying. I'm assuming the same thing happened with my background check. They claimed the one I sent was through a "third party" when in fact it was direct from the FBI. Had to reorder and resend. Hope you receive your COPR soon!

I just want an eCAS update! "Decision Made" would be music to my ears (or art to my eyes)!

So I just noticed now that the letter for Sponsorship approval says they have sent my application "abroad" does that mean it has been sent to an office in the US? After that part of the letter it gives me all the CPP-O office information? Kinda of confused Huh

This is what it says:

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.
Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the
Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail,
fax, or in writing as follows:
CPP Ottawa
Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa
NHQ - Centralized Processing Region
219 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON
K1A 1L1, Canada
E-mail: OttPilot-immigration @ cic.gc.ca
Fax number: (613) 946-6059
This visa office was selected based on your relative's home address and the requirements of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Does that mean it's in CPP-O??

So...I got my PPR along with a request for my original FBI clearance on the 24th of July...I sent both documents (copy of PP and FBI letter) express overnight to Ottawa. They were received/signed for at the mail room exactly 24 hours after I received that e-mail. Do you think I am looking at 50-60 days? I know each case is different but I am just trying to get an idea of timing of everything (as we all are!) :)

Ottawa is the "abroad" office for Americans/ USA residents. It's proof who really won the War of 1812. :p :p :p

I think it's a form letter and all the IO can do is add which "foreign" office your application was sent to.

That would be my guess, but you could also get really lucky, or really unlucky, depending on your file, your VO, and whether there's a full moon.

We were away at a family reunion in Alberta since Thursday and when my husband arrived home in the US tonight his COPR was in the mail!!!! Not sure when exactly it arrived, but it was dated July 31, so I think it probably just arrived today. SO happy and thankful we are almost done...just the Landing to go (likely next weekend).

Congrats! I put today's date. The field says "COPR Received" not "Day COPR showed up in your mail box" anyway :p

It's fascinating reading accounts of a war in which no one really won (or lost). Plus, it's also interesting to see the things that are ignored (like the fact that the British Canadian forces were victorious early on over the American idiots forces largely due to deals made with the First Nations people - who were subsequently screwed over, and that's why later battles went against British Canadian forces).

IvanP is correct that there is a maddening degree of randomness about the whole process. My October 10, 2012 app was transferred to the Los Angeles V.O. (Not sure when -- we never received any notification). On January 7, I received an e-mail request for further info and a signature on an unsigned form. We mailed the docs--together with a copy of my new/renewed U.S. passport--on January 27, and receivedCOPR on March 1! The COPR was issued February 22, and mailed certified from L.A. No one was more surprised than me, and what a great b-day present (even one day late). ;)
During the process, I tried to ignore the passage of time and stayed busy getting our house ready to sell, preparing B4s, packing, etc. Hang in there!
