Hi all! I just found out that we received sponsor approval on June 17. Please update the spreadsheet, thanks! :)

Just a question- I didn't change my name to my married name before we sent in our application since I didn't want to delay the process any longer. If I do it now, will I need to only notify CIC of the change or will they ask me to send all new documents? Is it better to wait until after I receive COPR?

Thanks in advance!

Note that if you change it after they issue the COPR, that will be the name on your PR card.

Congrats u are almost done and it looks like u are a week after me. Mine changed to decision made exactly a week after ppr.

Well, it seems safe to say that the strike doesn't seem to be causing issues; in fact, there seems to be more activity!

According to PMM, the union striking isn't the officer who process visas, but other diplomats at the embassies. I'm guessing it may have a "trickle down" effect on the IOs, so that's why CIC posted the notice to their website.

SWEEEET!!!

btw - how do people receive PPR? via e-mail?

Leaving for Montreal in the morning with a U-Haul full of our stuff. Wish me luck!

(I can't believe how exhausted I am, and I still have so much to do!)

Usually yes. Then COPR comes in the mail.

It is exciting to see so much movement :D I hope it continues like this for a long while!!!

Today my ecas changed to "In Process" saying they started processing my husband application on July 3! At least ecas changed! because he had emailed and had not received any responses. Hopefully decision made will come next. :D

I'm really glad that the strike action hasn't slowed things down much and (as Yellowrose said) even seems to be expediting things, as my application will be going in the mail Monday morning.

After that, all I can do is try to not worry and stress too much... though I probably will anyway. :c

For those asking about the COPR timing, I noticed that many people, without additional info requests, received theirs in 2 or 4 weeks. I'm guessing that those residing within Canada receive them in the 2 week period, and those residing outside in the 4 week period. According to emails from both my husband and me (CIC did respond to both), they mailed mine to the US 12 days after they received my email with the passport copies and then it took about another 2 weeks for the snail mail from Canada to the US.

Speaking of snail mail, our first anniversary was yesterday, and my anniversary card to my hubby was sent back twice for insufficient postage. (I was running out of places for stamps and didn't recall this much postage in the past.) We celebrated in Skype last night and will go out to celebrate here after we get the family on the road with my things and before we fly out on the 2nd. My husband wants to have a big party at the next holiday, Thanksgiving, to celebrate our thankfulness that this will all be over! ;)

Is this PPR or just a request for missing document?
"In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Ø Passport/Travel Document: Provide a copy of a valid passport or travel document "

It sounds a lot like PPR to me.

hi all,

Our case was of ADR and we won ADR hearing last month on 4th Jun and we received letter in 2 weeks time that our appeal has been accepted and they gonna process the file again. 3 days back we got letter that our file gonna be processed in CPP-Ottawa. They have asked to submit the few form. 0008,5669 & 5406 and medical and PCC. So any idea what happens next and how long will it take to get visa.

Rgds,
Sagar
