App received Dec 31st. U.S to Canada and I got passport request June 28, so I hope the decision made is good news.

Awesome, my application was received on Jan 7th so this is great news!

OK, listening to the landing info, have a question. We're flying to Edmonton on August 2nd from the US, where we're living now. We'll "land" at customs, right? Then, a few days later, we'll drive across into Montana to pick up the trailer with my household goods and drive across the border. There's no appointment for that, right?

Got the COPR today.

Called CIC .Waiting time for "landing" in Etobicoke is 2-4 weeks
And for Scarborough it is 2-3 months.

The agent instead suggested me to do the "flagpole".
He told me:
1) Just get passed Canada and come back. No need to go to the US border patrol.
2) All documents like COPR, Passport, ID's Proof of Residence and most importantly ALL ORIGINALS of the DOCUMENTS submitted with the application.
3) No proof of Funds either as I am being sponsored.

Planning to do this on this Sunday i.e 7th July, 2013.

Thanks
Arindam

Good luck! Be careful with turning around before you get to the US border patrol. They might come after you thinking you are doing something illegal OR there may not even be a place to turn around until you pass the border patrol (Such was the case with Prescott bridge)

Looking forward to hearing how it goes!

Hi Everyone!

Can anyone elaborate or break down the timeline for me once COPR is received? I wasn't aware that I had to apply for a SIN # and there is another wait time on this? I am (as I am sure all of you) want to be able to have an idea when I will be able to (FINALLY) start work in Canada so I have a time frame to tell potential employers, as even the job hunt itself is a full time job! :o

I am currently in Vancouver, but headed back to the states for a little while (maybe a month or so). When I receive my COPR (I assume it is mailed to my permanent address in the states? Or will it be sent to my hubby/sponsors in Canada?) I will come back into Canada to land. Is it in my best interest to enter Canada first, then flagpole? I understand i will need all documents: Passport, IDs, marriage certificate...

Will I then apply for a SIN after this is done?

Thank you so much!

What did you put as your mailing address? That's where the COPR is going to go to. If you get the COPR in the US, just tell them you are landing! Then you can just land that way :)

Once you land(and only after you land!), go to Service Canada and get your SIN. Timeline? 20 minutes :)

Correct on all accounts :)

Hi Everyone..

I got email from CPP-O to provide following document: copy of passport.

It doesnot mention anything about interview being waived or not..

q1- Is this how it is usually worded ?
q2- Should I email them the passport or send by mail ?

Thanks

When they ask for the passport, that means the interview has been waived! What country are you coming from? Usually it will say right in the email how to get it to them.

Email it since your wife is American :) Congrats!!

I have a question for anyone who has used an attorney for the process. When the PPR comes in will it come to my email address (the Applicant) or to my attorney? Also, when they mail COPR will it go to my attorney or to my home address?

I didn't use an attorney, but read about it on here. EVERYTHING will go through your attorney. So if they send it on a weekend (it has been known to happen) you won't know until Monday.

Thanks parker, I don't know if they have his email address or not. I know that the attorney did get the sponsorship approval and I had to wait to get it. Not fun!!
