Got email from Port of Spain VO asking for updated forms and FBI check. I don't know why they are asking for a new FBI check as I have not been to the US since my PR application. Also the new updated form has a section asking if ECA report was submitted. I don't know why this is being asked as it shouldn't apply to us, right? Anyway, will chat with lawyer next week and submit the forms. I have been given 60 days. I have a job offer and have been working in Canada for 3.5 yrs now. Applied for PR in March 2011, I hope the end is near!

Bizarre indeed, but they are just trying to tighten situations a little bit I believe. It should be okay to get one, not a long process - just have to do finger-printing right? But a little delay again of course.

Wish you all the best and speedy process...

Plz do reply if anyone has any information
Thanx

Hi guys,

An update from my side. I received the medical request for self and family today at 2pm in an email. I received separate emails for each family member from Port of Spain. No other documents has been asked for update, no PPR and RPRF request. There is no change in the file number in my case.

It had been long time since I applied but patience prevailed at last.

All the best for those who are waiting. Hang in there, it will happen.

Regards,
Shiv

Please share…how long does Port of Spain VO takes to stamp the visa and return your passport.
Thanks in advance & good luck to everyone :)

Good morning there,
I have checked our E-cas, A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE in our case!!! I'll keep you guys posted when hearing anything directly from Port of Spain.
So it has taken about 1 month since Port of Spain started processing our case. Our experience speaks that once the file is in process, the visa office works quite fast on our file.
You guys' turns will definitely come soon and all the best for us,
saratracy

Hi everyone, just want to let you guys know that after a long time waiting, I received the notice from Port of Spain this afternoon. I was asked to submit the following 10 items:

1) Right of Permanent Residence Fee
2) Passports
3) Photographs
4) Personal information: eye color and height
5) Updated application forms (links attached for easy reference):
Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 536 KB)
Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669] (PDF, 170 KB)
Schedule 3: Economic Classes [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 3]
Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] (PDF, 79 KB)
6) Proof of valid (extended) work permit in the U.S.
7) Updated FBI certificate
8 Copy of your actual Bachelor, Masters and PHD degrees (actual certificates, not transcripts)
9) Updated proof of funds
10) Other requirements (only if checked)
X An immigration medical exam, instructions will be sent in a separate email. If you reside outside of Trinidad, it is recommended that you indicate to the designated medical practitioner that you wish to have your results sent by courier to ensure prompt delivery (you must pay any added cost). Please note that medical conditions requiring further tests will cause a delay in processing; you will be informed by our office should additional tests be required.

A final decision cannot be made on your application until the Right of Permanent Residence Fee has been paid and all of the above-noted documents have been received.

They must be received in this office within SIXTY (60) days of the date of this letter. Failure to do so could result in your application being refused.

Submit the documents, including this letter, as soon as possible to the following address:
High Commission of Canada
Immigration Section
Room 007
P.O. Box 565 Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago

Again, my timeline is as follows:

Applied: 03/07/2011, FSW1, no job offer, NOC code: 2121
RBVO: 04/04/2011
Transferred to Ottawa: May/June, 2012
Transferred to Port of Spain: April 24, 2013
Notice for MR, RPRF, Passport: Aug. 30, 2013.

I will need to read through the instructions for the submission of all these documents. I will probably ask more questions about this later.

I believe that all of you who are still waiting for the notice will receive it soon.

Good luck!

Up-to-date as of Aug. 20, Ottawa has processed 5949 files from Buffalo, and 3,568 applications remain in the queue. So all the cases from Buffalo maybe processed in 7 months. we can get MR before Next April. Just wait.

Hey, i have a similar timeline as yours.. I applied on Feb 25th, 2011 in FSW1 category, NOC 2121. but i haven't got any reply :(
Do you have any job offer? Are you living within Canada?

Hi sushmagp,

I don't have an job offer. Not sure why you still didn't receive anything from Port of Spain yet. I am currently living in US. Did you email Port of Spain? You may want to do it if you didn't. I emailed them twice before I got the notice. Don't know what exactly happened nowadays.

Good luck!

Hi saratracy,

Did you receive your passport with visa yet? Just curious how long it takes to stamp your visa on the passport and return to you at Port of Spain after you submit all the required documents. It seems that you also received the PPR at the same time as ME.

Please update here once the info is available.

Thanks
