hi guys. i need some advice quick
i was asked for RCMP check with fingerprints. i went to my local police station and i told them i need it for immigration. i asked them to do it ellectronically and they said for immigration purpose we do it the old fashioned way that is on paper. so they issued me police clearance and took my fingerprint on a paper form and hand it over to me right away. and i mailed those to CPP-ottawa same day. but i got shocked when i got one more RCMP check results for fingerprints after 4 months from RCMP headoffice in ottawa. do i need to send that to CPP-ottawa too? if yes how come they have given me only 60 days to submit that if it could even take 4 months ? now people are saying the police check i got few days ago is the actual one which should i sent them, i am confused what's going on. so if some wiser folks here could help me out that would be great. reply asap

humm.. I requested them by email on August 2nd and still didn't receive anything except the automatic email confirmation.

i'd say give it another week. in my status window on caipesnotes.com it said on 3rd August 70% complete, the next day (Saturday!) afternoon it was there.

I am also in Montreal.

pretty similar timelines to yours.... but I have applied with my spouse.

In process since 17 May which means Eligibility passed on that date.... for you it was 23rd May.

Seems like you will have the PPR any day now.....you seem to be ready for visa RFV..... :)

good luck....

we'll see....let's hope for all of us.... :)

Do "Started processing or In Process" appears before "Med. Reciv." or after?

And does med reciev, means all checks have been done?

@cse2573

First: In Process (about the same you should have gotten the Med. Request.)

Second: Medicals received

"Meds Received" means, that the checks are starting, if not started yet.

@lepatissier
So what checks are starting? I thought for QSW, checks are suppose to be faster
since it is just about securities & criminalities...or am l wrong?

you're right, its supposed to be faster. :)

The moment it goes into "Started Processing" it means all your documents are complete, and you passed eligibility, which is actually more or less already passed, since you obtained your CSQ, that's the part which is "fast". :) Since the AOR mostly comes with the meds attached, and "started processing" appears on Ecas, it also means they're supposed to start "Criminality" (Police Clearances). And whilst you did your Med Exam, and they received it, and you (hopefully) pass this, ... they go to the next step "security",...which is the time consuming process,...includes checking all the employers, the countries you've been....etc...that is the process i'm in since June.... at least according to my GCMS.

the way I see it:

The checks are not really faster, since the checks are at the federal part, which everybody has to do. It looks faster, because you skip the part of checking your qualification at the federal level, which is done with your CSQ, which you've been waiting for possibly a year, or worse, 2 years. the QSW was "easier" before, since you didn't (necessarily) need a job offer (and possibly IELTS)...which makes it "easier" (but not necessarily faster) to get to the federal part. But THIS will be different as of next year. You will need a Job Offer, and IELTS (or similar) will be mandatory.

does it help? :)

Hello
Thanks but you just got me confused a bit. If you say security checks involve employers, then what is ELIGIBITIES CHECKS?
And at the CSQ stage, qualifications & employment eligibities were done, and from the MICC website, it says the federal part will only do security, Criminalities & medicals...So how come eligibilities are done again...l think all this double work slow down the waiting processes!!!
