Contacting CIC regarding Police Certificate

We recently received the same letter as many other people asking to send police certificate if we have not already done so. We have done so, however I would like confirmation that they have it. I submitted a Case Enquiry form with no response weeks ago and have tried calling but if they're busy they just end the call.

How do people generally get through to CIC people? do they just call constantly until they find a gap?

Did you send it by mail? Was it registered mail or express post? Did you have a tracking number?

Did you send it by online account or web form?

Hi,
We sent it with the application all together by mail. The application was signed for in october and I've passed the medical which was included with the application also.
I submitted the query via the IRCC webform, and received a email confirmation that they received my query and would try and respond in 10 business days which passed ages ago.

Yes they are not very good at answering webforms. It can take up to months sometime before they reply to you. Well that means if they got the package then they got everything that was inside so that means they have the certificate as well.

Sometimes they do it in different orders, some applications take longer than others. Also depends who has your file.

My background check started on April 27 and still in process. I called and they said they are waiting for the check from RCMP and CBSA before they continue to the next step which is medical. I haven't received sponsor approval yet either.

They received my complete package on March 13, 2017.

All I'm doing is waiting....thats all you can do.

It is always a pain getting through with the phone at cic. It's better to call early morning or late afternoon. I usually just try until I get them.
Are you inland or outland?

inland, normally i wouldnt think twice about the possibility of them not having my police certificate but on the letter they sent it said "if you dont give your police certificate within 60 days then your application will sort of stop and you have to start again. but if youve already sent it then dont worry...but if you havent then you better." so obviously i would just like them to confirm they have it so i can stop worrying. I guess i'll just call a lot tomorrow

Yea call to confirm so you won't be stressed about it. Call around 8 am or 10 am tomorrow or like 3 pm or 3 30 pm. You can also try throughout the day as well.

Finally got through and asked. They said they have no record specifically pertaining to my police certificate but the letter I received was an information letter only and to ignore it if i sent it with the application. Not the definitive answer i was looking for but close enough i guess

Sometimes they aren't very helpful but if you are sure you Sent it with the application then don't worry about it. They will have it.

With mine specifically I did send my police certificate with my complete package. I did not send my Schedule A.

They sent a letter requesting only my Schedule A since they already has my police certificates.

Did your letter say you need to send both schedule A and Police certificate?

The letter said this

In preparation for the processing your application, we require additional documents/information to assess your eligibility and admissibility to Canada

In order to avoid delays in the processing of your application you must only send one submission in response to this request. That submission should contain all requested documents. Alternatively, if you are unable to provide any or all of the requested documents/information, please explain why they are not available, in the same submission where you submit all of the documents that you have prepared/that were requested. If you have not yet submitted the following documents, you must submit them to this office:
Police Certificate(s)

The principal applicant (and all family members 18 years or older) is required to submit a police certificate(s) from the: • The country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18; For instructions on how to obtain the correct police certificate required, you must visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

If you have already submitted police certificates as noted above please disregard. If you are unable to comply please forward a written explanation.

I sent everything together in one big binder so it's unlikely that it fell out or something. Lots of people seemed to receive this letter within a few days of each other in april, i remember seeing an influx of posts about it...

Okay then you have nothing to worry about.
You are fine.

The letter I received which I received said we need this document (Schedule A) to continue processing your application. You have 30 days to send it in and it must be sent using one of the 3 methods (upload in Gckey, webforms or mail)

They also said no other reminder will be sent you. If it is not received in the time frame it will be refused.

I sent In 2 weeks after they requested it.

oh there was a timeline stuff further down, i imagine similar to yours.

The onus is on you to satisfy the processing officer that you are not ineligible or inadmissible and can therefore become a permanent resident. You must send the requested documents and any additional information which you consider might respond to this request within sixty (60) days from the date of this letter. No other reminder will be sent to you. If you fail to provide the requested information, your application will be assessed on the basis of the information that we have which may result in the refusal of your application for permanent residence. Should this occur, no further consideration will be given to your request for permanent residence unless a new application, including fees, is submitted.

Obviously, it's unnerving to receive knowing that your application might go down the toilet because they lost something.

Yes I know. I did call them last week to make sure one more time they received it and they said yes we have it. We are just waiting for updates from the police and so on.
