Colombia Police Certificate Process...

Hello fcabrales , I was wondering if you got the certificate without any problem? I requested mine almost a month ago through the other company (Omni I think its called), but haven't get any updates yet either. What did it happen with you? Did you finally got the certificate?

Hola tengo una pregunta, yo recibí un email pedidiendome el background check para Colombia y otro papel adicional para que la embajada pudiera continuar con mi proceso. Ya pague el certificado policial y la empresa OMNITEMPUS me confirmo que ya radico el proceso, también la empresa UPS por donde mande los papeles adicionales me confirmo que llegaron, pero no he escuchado nada de parte de la embajada. Esto fue hace dos semanas, no deberían ellos ya haber respondido que recibieron los papeles? estoy preocupada porque me dieron 30 días para hacer esto y no han respondido oficialmente que los recibieron. Otra pregunta que CSQ y SA que tanto hablan de eso.

Hi I have a question. I received an email asking me for the colombian background check and an additional document in order to continue with my application evaluation. I already paid the background check and colombian service provider OMNITEMPUS told me they started the process. Also UPS confirmed they delivered the other documents to the embassy in Bogota. However, I have not heard anything from the embassy any AOR. Is this normal? I am worried because they gave me 30 days to do this. An additional question what is CSQ and SA that everybody talk about it.

cómo te fue con el proceso? Estuve viviendo un año en colombia y me piden el certificado policial. Lo solicité a la empresa Omnitempus y me dicen que lo han enviado a la embajada de Canadá en Bogotá el 31 de MArzo. Ahora, en la web del CIC me piden subir un documento, pero cual debo subir? porque a mí esta empresa no me ha proporcionado el certificado...

Segun lo que tengo entendido ellos lo envían directamente a la embajada, a mí aún no me los han pedido pero eso es lo que he leído en otros foros.

Disculpa que te moleste y te pregunte, sera que puedes compartir tu timeline? Mi esposo aplico el 17 de Febrero y desde el AOR2 que me enviaron el 2 de Abril no he vuelto a saber mas de la embajada. Muchos de los que aplicaron no han escuchado nada de la embajada desde finales de Abril y estoy mas o menos viendo cuanto se pueda demorar el proceso. Te lo agradeceria muchismo.

Mi AOR me lo dieron el 4 de Abril y el 2 de Junio recibi una carta con instrucciones para tramitar mi pasado judicial de Colombia. SIn embargo yo ya habia solicitado a Omnitempus mandar mi certificado a la embajada de Canada directamente. Hoy los contacte para que confirmen si el certificado fue inicialmente enviado o no y si se extravio que lo envien nuevamente. En la carta tambien dan instrucciones de subir un documento pero como la agencia lo envia directamente pienso subir una carta explicado que la agencia envia el certificado directamente.

Hola! Alguien ha tenido problemas con su certificado ? Resulta que me han mandado ya 4 veces desde Canadá la solicitud de certificado policial, el mismo lo he enviado ya 2 veces a la embajada, hecho con omnitempus y g4s, pero en realidad no sé la embajada adónde los ha enviado pues sigo recibiendo la misma solicitud. A alguien le pasó algo parecido? Saben de algún número donde pueda llamar en Canadá? En realidad la embajada no da mucha información, incluso ya he ido 3 veces y solo se puede hablar con el recepcionista y solo da un mail al cual escribo, pero no responden.

Call the embassy, I'm sure they have a number for that purpose. When did you get AOR? Perhaps you should send them a message through webform. You could also just upload a letter explaining that the procedure to get the police certificate in Colombia is how it is, they send it directly to the embassy.

Hello! Well, it's really difficult to reach out the Colombian embassy, I did try calling several times, but all my attempts failed! They kept hunging up on me. That's why I decided to go there personally and explain the case, but I ended up only with an email address, because no information could be given to me. I wrote to them and Thank God they replied back my email! when I asked if my police Certificate was sent, they answered back confirming that it was sent to the Ottawa office, after maybe 1 or 1-1/2 month of having recievied it from the security company. With that, I uploaded a explanatory letter into mycic account, explaining my case and telling them that the police Certificate was already sent to the Ottawa office ( this was after receiving 3 times the same police Certificate request from immigration Canada). In the hopes that everything was sorted out, and I sure that the letter was enough for to them, yesterday, I have received for the fourth time, again, the police Certificate request. I really don't know why this could be possibly happening. Forgot to mention that I sent twice the police certificates, both in different times, and sent by different security companies. Yesterday, I wrote an email to the embassy again, asking when my second Certificate was sent. I haven't received any answer back! I'm not sure if they would have sent it though! Any help is really appreciated ! Thanks!!

The only thing I can think of is using webform to tell them what's going on. So your file hasn't been transferred to Bogota yet?

I found this on CIC's website regarding police certificate/background check in Colombia:
When you apply for permanent residence, you will be asked to upload a police certificate. Instead, you must upload a document that states: “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.”

We will then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we will send you more information on how to get a police certificate. Please read the instructions above for more information.
Do not apply for the Background Verification Certificate until you receive a file number from the Canadian visa office and instructions telling you to apply for the certificate.

Service providers will require you to sign a consent form authorizing them to disclose the Background Verification Certificate to the Canadian visa officer.

Service providers will forward the Background Verification Certificate directly to CIC.

That is what you have to do, as it says there that you have to upload a document instead (word file or pdf, most likely) saying that you're applying from a country that requires that, you can't simply upload the background check as they're requesting. It states there that you have to wait to get the request from the visa office, which in this case is Canadian embassy in Bogota, that's your visa office.
