Mine is the standard sposal case, I paid the fee online and got the Offical recipt which I must fill with My Name, Adress, DOB, Phone etc.
but there is a field that states Client ID?r

A. What is this?
B. Where can I get this number from?
C. Can I send in my application with out this number?

Some Immigration attorney told me this is your passport numnber of PR card number, I highly doubt him.
Please advise.

Thanks,
Aman

The client ID is the number you get from immigration once they start to process your file. I think there are other things that generate a client ID number as well, but when I phoned CIC for the same question (Because it asks for a client ID number on the app as well) they stated that we simply don't have one as yet, and not to worry, just leave it blank on the receipt and put N/A on the app.

If the person being sponsored doesn't already have some sort of client ID from Immigration Canada, then you don't need to worry about this number. At least, that's what they told me.

Leave it blank and send it in. You will receive your client ID when you hear from CIC. It is not your passport number by the way.
