Just an update... Had a meeting with my immigration consultant to talk about the plan above. She didn't recommend going to Canada as there is no guarantee that will change anything. She was pretty bleak about the whole situation, she doesn't think much will happen this year as they can fill their yearly quota from internal applicants.

Hey Tom. No, I had an email saying that there was a new message waiting for me. When I logged into my account there was a message and it requested passport or copy of passport if from a visa exempt country. Does the email mention sending your passport?

Yep, that's what the message in my account said. I also had to pay a transmission fee and include proof of payment. There was also a page in the letter that they ask to be filled, details like height, eye colour.
Big congrats! Hope they are doing these enmasse as quite a few have got one recently. Cant understand the order of processing though as my AOR is 1st September 2020... CEC Outland, applied from Canada but returned to the UK December 2020.

This is incorrect, In that case how can they declare that they want 4laks immigrants for 2021. They will clear all the back logs before November.
apparently the backlog of application is over 700,000(?) and they have already landed over 180,000 this year. By those numbers ifthey can clear around 220,000 of these, they can still meet the 400,000 target.
700000 ??? I don't think so . Where you got this number. Total FSW + CEC =23000 backlogs till Feb2021. Now the count is reduced. Not sure from where you got the update of 7 Laks applicants.
