hi does anyone know, after receiving a BOWP, do we also need to renew the SIN no. if the old work permit is expired?




Yes, you will have to renew it. They will give you the same number but will update the dates. It is valid until your new bowp expires.

anyone who gets their WP approved or denied,plz share your info here to help out other whole bunch of people like my self.
i have applied my BOWP on 16th of sept.,paper application and my current one expires on 13th december.
i am july 31st applicant,got AOR on 8th of oct and that's about it.
no MR,nothing else at all...
anyone in same situation like me,come and will chat about our stress.

Sombody who applied BOWP on August 10 got his permit today.
His PR application was OCT 6.
So, they do not care it seems about eligibility.

It is usually mentioned in your BOWP. At the bottom as a note.

Also if you have not received your PR yet it means it is pending

I put my hope on Jan 2016 now , but I really have no idea, if there is still no news on Jan 2016, what else can we do ? Apply work permit again ?

I believe our files are being touched one of the reason being the mass email / letters etc we sent long ago. We must do it once again if we are not getting anything by end of January.

That might help, however there is pressure on CIC already, my lawyer attended CIC conference in Ottawa last month and they mentioned that they are targeting to clear all CEC 2014 applications in 2016. They also want one system of Express Entry going forward. This is a personal suggestion that at this time we must wait patiently and not bother CIC with any email and let them focus on our applications.

Moreover, Most of the June and July 2014 have either be finalized or received MR, hence as soon as they start processing old CEC, July End applicants and Aug applicants must be ahead in the queue.

2016 scope is very long, can you detail which part of 2016 they target , Really can't accept another God's birthday .

most of you who gave upfront medical exams cant tell how much longer itll be.. i gauge my application progress from the fact that it will take at least 2-3 months after i get my medical request to finalize my application.. and i applied in mid august.. so if their target to finalise the application is feb 2016 then i should be getting my medical request around end of december.. but so far none of the early aug applicants have heard anything so im doubtful that will happen.. lets see .. i just feel like the more we ask for notes and send emails the more work they get you need to understand its not just one person sending emails inquiring them abt their application their are thousands of ppl which makes them slower.. we will get our pr when we do just let them work without being interrupted. were doing harm to our selves by acting like hurdles..

ushiee88, GCMS is separate system - requesting GCMS will not delay your process or its not a work of a VO.

As far as thing are going, CIC already announced they will finalize all 2014 applicants within 6 months in 30th November 2015 Star news.

So it is official that they declared some deadlines, mostly they abide on it or they planned for it.

They have target for every program and I hope CEC target is achieved for 2015 and hence they plan this 6000 application for 2016 target.

Also now mostly MR is provided along with RPRF for most July applicants unlike June applicants.

Conclusion: Action of them is 'ACT OF GOD', you cannot predict. Above points are just to stay positive.

Some September applicant got his recent notes and there is nill progress. This point is negative for us, to act on why the application is not moving at all by calling agents and MPS.

I applied for my BOWP last Saturday and looking at the rejections, i am thinking to withdraw my WP application for now (as i applied 117 days before the expiry of my current WP).

And now, I cannot access MyCIC account for last two days :'( :'(

It seems like dealing with some re***ded system. GCMS should be live, so we can act and manage our lives accordingly.

Anyways, just wanted to confirm that others are also getting "system maintenance" message for mycic account.

Also, does anyone know the procedure to withdraw an online WP application ? Do they refund the fees ?
