No you don't need to pay taxes in Canada. You were just "visiting" to finish landing formalities.
Thanks for your reply. Just to be clear I don't need to file for taxes either?
I did get my SIN and opened a bank account with $ 0 and it has been $ 0 since.

You don't need to pay taxes. You can file taxes showing $0 income if you want to.
I really don't want to bother filing if I dont have any ties or income. I can let it be right? Sorry to sound so overcritical. Just wanted to be clear that I don't have to FILE taxes for my current situation. Just want to make sure I'm fulfilling all obligations till I start living in Canada.

This would not be suitable for OP as this could open a new can of worms with the CRA. Until you become a tax resident in Canada you do not need to file taxes at all. Filing at $0 could mean that they are resident in Canada but did not have any income, neither in Canada or abroad. Which does not reflect their current situation.

You'd only need to file taxes if you spouse or children were left in Canada otherwise you are not a tax resident.
