My PR card is going to expire in November 2012 and for last five years i went to canada only once for two weeks to complete immigration formalities.

So, if i will go now to canada. Will they allow me to enter and if i wish to come outside canada for visit before two years will they permit.

I applied through skilled workers category and my family is also not staying in canada.

It's impossible to say what will happen when you try to enter Canada.

You could be allowed in without any problems. If you are, you should remain in Canada for a full two years (without leaving for even one day) to fulfill your two year residency requirement. Then you can apply for a new PR card. If you decide to leave Canada during these two years, expect this to create problems for your PR status.

You could also be reported by border officials for failing to meet residency requirements when you enter Canada. If you are reported, you will have to appear in front of a judge to argue why you should be allowed to retain your PR status.

With just 2 weeks of stay in Canada and no chnace that you can complete 2 years residency requirement on the current PR card, you would be DENIED entry unless their is oversight by the immigration officer.
In case you are lucky to get entry, your PR card would not be renewed and one month time would be given to leave Canada. Staying 2 years after the expiry of PR card will change the result.

A Permanent Resident in Canada is someone who is not a Canadian citizen but who has been granted permission to live and work in Canada without any time limit on his or her stay. A permanent resident must live in Canada for two years out of every five or risk losing that status.
