Can i work while im on applied status for study permit extention

Hello I am so scared I applied for my study permit extension on 6 July 2019 and my study permit is expiring today that is 31 July 2019 and i still have not received any updates form the cic so can i work part time after 31 July 2019 as I'm on applied status after today ? Please help

I applied for my extension on July 3rd and I still havent heard anything. The only thing I have updated is that they are reviewing my eligibility

They only updated this on my file from July 29th. So I am assuming this means someone is looking into it and a decision should come shortly?

Hi, they didnt start reviewing my eligibility until July 29th. I just got the update on the 29th.

I am already on a working visa in canada and I applied for an initial study permit, but this is classed as an extension

If you apply before your permit expires, you can stay in Canada under the same conditions as your current study permit until you get a decision.
