Can I travel with TRV(Bridge Open work permit) while I'm waiting for my first PR Card?

Hi,

I've received PR Portal email in August, 2021 and am still waiting for verification code to be sent to me so that I can login to PR portal for the first time.

During this time, Will I be able to travel outside Canada and return with TRV while I'm waiting for my first PR Card(Applied from Inside Canada)?


Please help as I REALLY NEED TO TRAVEL THIS JANUARY. Just have TRV but no PR Card yet. Still waiting on access to PR Portal.

The short answer is most likely not. You can leave Canada without issues, but you will need either a valid PR card or valid PRTD to board a plane to return to Canada. Alternatively you can fly to the US and then re-enter Canada by land.

Temporary visas are generally canceled in the system once someone lands and becomes a PR. So you should assume that your TRV is no longer valid and would show invalid to the airlines if you tried to use it to board a plane.

Ur trv is valid as long as you still havent receive your copr
