Can I file a spouse application if my wife doesn't live in Canada

I and my wife are living in Pakistan after our marriage and its been almost 1 year. I want to file a case now is it possible to file it from here or she have to go back to Canada and do a job to prove that she won't take any benefits from government for me?.

It depends. If she is a Canadian citizen then she can sponsor you from Pakistan. If she is a PR, she will need to move back to Canada before she can sponsor you.

Yes, shes a canadian citizen. But wouldn't the visa officer ask us for funds? Like we are going to survive in canada or where we would live?

They will only want proof of your intention to return. For example, have a job lined up, or a house or place to live organised, etc etc.

We are sending a copy of my wife's uni acceptance in Calgary, and communication with realtors and employers showing us doing research because we wont have any house or job organised this far in advance. Weve also included letters from family there saying theyll put us up.

Only if youve applied and been accepted. Generally rhough they wont accept you until a few months until it starts.

yes thats what im asking like how to get it 1 year before as they will take at least 1 year to issue the visa.

You can apply to universities now, get accepted and then defer your admission to the following term.

my wife was already studying and did one year of university then freezes the course. I have talked to her and she said she can start at any time again from the 2nd year. Do I still need to show acceptance letter?

I don't think you need an acceptance letter. The university can provide a transcript for the years your wife has studied and a letter covering her present status. Why doesn't you wife let the university know that she intends to go back for ... semester then they can give you guys a letter to that effect?

i guess she can get that letter from university that she wants to join back.
