I hold Canadian PR and as per CIC time outside of Canada may count towards permanent resident status if the following conditions are met:
"You work outside Canada. You need to work full-time for:
  1. Canadian business or organization, or
  2. The Canadian federal, provincial or territorial government" Source: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1466&top=10

Can some one please elaborate on this. If a company is present in Canada, what sort of documents do we need to procure from them to show that we are working for Canadian Organization and also please share details on tax.

In order to be able to count time working outside of Canada, you would first need to be hired for a role that is physically located in Canada for a company that has operations and revenue in Canada (including filing taxes). Once you have worked in that role for a while, the company would then need to transfer you to a temporary role outside of Canada. If you meet these conditions, you can then count the time outside of Canada towards PR.

If you are already working for a Canadian company outside of Canada, then you will not be allowed to count this time towards PR.

Similarly, you cannot set up your own company in Canada and then take a consultant engagement or employment outside of Canada. This also will not count.
