Hello everyone!

Does anyone know if the embassy emails the sponsor or the sponsored or both when additional documents are required or interview or for passport request?

I don't know exactly, we have a representative because i have been refused before in 2011, our case was a very complicated one
they have always contacted her for any documents but they emailed all of us me, my husband and our representative when they requested passports

We finally have VOH!
It is valid for 11.5 months which is kind of random. lol (it is not related to our medical or any date it seems)
Good luck to the rest of you!

We also had the visa stamped on the 28th with the visa valid for almost a year and this has nothing to do with the expired medical.

The passports were delivered on 24 Jan and we haven't heard anything since then, i am really worried why it's taking too long :-[
Is it ok to send an email confirming that the passports has been delivered or just be patient and wait?

I'm glad to find this thread I have been following another one the October 2015 outland applicants, after a while things slowed down so much that there are no news almost for most people. from reading some of the posts I think it takes about 8 months on average for the process if it is a straight forward sponsorship for a spouse is that correct? the last update for me is finally after the file was transferred on Dec18th to vo in Cairo yesterday I found on e-cas that the pr application status changed from received to in process so based on your experience am I looking at about another 4 months ?

Same here Spirit,

My husband's passport was delivered on January 20th and he still hasn't received it. The man at DHL told him it could take up to three weeks! However, a friend of mine received it after 2 days, so I guess it varies. I guess we should be used to waiting by now but I find it gets harder the closer you get :-[

This is a completely unrelated question but I didn't want to start a new thread just for this. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the luggage allowance is for people who are coming as PR's. Does it change at all or still two bags of 23kg. I can't seem to find this online
