Hey folks

My knowledge about documents is a little weak and would request your help.
Regarding citizenship application of minor, For birth certificate of minor child (applying with parents) do we need to get it notorized in Canada too and get affidavit if those are not in English?
During our PR process we translated from outside canada and attested those copies but no affidavit. Can I send those which I sent during PR or I need to get affidavit here?

All you need is just translation and no point for affidavit.

List them as employment, no need to make a comment directly in the form.

To be safe, you might want to attach a brief explanation on a different page. No need to make it long, a single sentence for each of the two cases should be fine.

Thank you so much. But I still have some confusion that how can i fill these 2 jobs in the form, as it is only month-year format. Like my experience number 2 that is only for 2 days, so what should I write in the form, should I select 06-2017 to 06-2017? can you tell me what should I exactly fill in this question? Thanks...

Hi Guys,

I have below doubts -
  • For question 9-C : I landed in mid-sept 15 and have not travelled outside Canada since landing, my eligibility period is SEPT-2013 to SEPT-2015, do I need to answer - YES or NO
  • For queston 11 : I was self-employed and was working for different client assignments one after the other.
    • What information shall I provide in Employer and Location column - my business name/loc or client name/loc?
    • Shall I create different line for every client
    • i have moved location of my corp to different loc as I moved , shall i create seperate line for each loaction?
Thanks!

What two documents need to be attached for kids for personal identification. Will health card and last year school report card suffice? But none of them will have the photo on it?

I'd still recommend people go from 2016. IRCC want to know, as part of the approval process that if you were eligible to pay taxes, you did. So 2017 doesn't help them and I'm pretty confident they will be looking at the last 3 full taxation years. Irrespective of what someone does here, you need to consent to IRCC getting your records from the CRA - so neither way of doing it will result in your application being rejected. It's worth noting though that if you go with 2017 - IRCC may request confirmation at a later date that your taxes have actually been filled. Good luck.
I have to disagree with this. According to, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/cit/grant/residence/tax.asp

it states the following:
"These procedures apply only to applications received on or after June 11, 2015.

To be eligible for citizenship, applicants are required to meet their tax filing obligations under the Income Tax Act for the appropriate relevant period:

For applications received on or after June 11, 2015 until October 10, 2017

  • Four of the taxation years that fall fully or partially within the six years immediately before the date of application.
For applications received on or after October 11, 2017

  • Three of the taxation years that fall fully or partially within the five years immediately before the date of application."
It states the tax years must be immediately before the date of the application. So if you sign it today, 2017 is still a tax year, you would tick off you have to file but you haven't filed yet, and then 2016/5/4/3. 3 out of the last 5 years must show that you filed your taxes.
Hi everyone..i have a problem about income tax filing..i landed pr since 2014 and never work since then..so i never filed my income tax..my question is what will i put on the box about income tax filing?Do i have to put the 3 taxation years and just click no i didnt filed it and no i am not required?thank you in advance.

Guys, question regarding the application dates. I know the date we sign the physical presence and the application form should be the same as the application date on the physical presence.
But maybe this is a ridiculous question, still I would rather ask. So even if I am mailing my application in a future date, can the application date on the physical presence be past. I mean, I will give an example. So right now my physical presence application date is 29th Oct 2018. But I know I still will need time till I gather all my docs and actually physically mail the whole package. So could be end of the week.
So the date 29th oct on both the form and the application is fine?

I left Canada as PR back in July 23, 2011 and returned still as PR October 30, 2015. I am doing the calculator and not sure if I am doing this right.. I did visit the US (for internship on first visit and second visit for vacation) and Japan(vacation) and was living in the Philippines as I was studying there, also worked for a few months while waiting for graduation and before returning to Canada. I keep on listing Philippines as I am trying to write it in order. Also, after saving it of course it said that my date was outside my 5-year eligibility period. But that was the only time I left Canada, never left since I returned back in 2015. Please advice if this is the right way to do this? Thank you so so much! My "reason" box looks like this... sorry don't know how to attach photo here.
Philippines - Reason: School
United States - Reason: Internship
Philippines - Reason: School
Japan - Reason: Vacation

Philippines - Reason: School and Work

Yeah, it's fine. IRCC needs to receive it less than 3 months after the signature date, so you have plenty of time.

Thank you, but just to clarify:

  • Date on physical presence is 29th Oct 2018
  • Date to sign with on physical presence print out is 29th Oct 2018
  • Date to sign on application is 29th Oct 2018
Eligibility period is 29th Oct 2013 to 29th Oct 2018 ?

Is this correct? Because I read on the website and some other threads, date to sign should be day after the end of eligibility period. So in my case 30th Oct 2018? My point being right now for me this what the physical presence calculator is showing:

Eligibility period: 29th Oct 2013 to 29th Oct 2018
Application date : 29th Oct 2018.

So what should I put in the application form as the eligibility period? Same as what I see on physical presence?
And what date to sign for application and physical presence.

Apologies for the long post, but just want to be sure.

Thanks a lot
