Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
The Buffalo visa office is officially closed and CPC-O will complete processing of cases in-process in Buffalo (The Bulletin was just posted).

"Important message: The Visa and Immigration Section at the Consulate General of Canada in Buffalo, New York, is closed and visa services have been transferred across the North American processing network. "

"Applications in-Process

Applications currently in process in Buffalo will be transferred to the Case Processing Pilot Office – Ottawa (CPP-O) for processing. All original supporting documents accompanying applications in Buffalo will also be transferred. Those who have already sent documents to the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo, New York do not need to re-send them."

ETA: For anyone with interviews in June that had been scheduled in Buffalo (I had received a few questions on this), CPC-O's contact info was just announced (it may be more effective than case specific enquiry to Buffalo at this point for follow-up since Buffalo is officially closed now per their website)

"For Permanent Resident visa applicants from within Canada and the U.S.:

For enquiries regarding Permanent Resident visa applicants from within Canada and the U.S.

Good luck, folks!

ETA: So, folks, it looks like the media got one thing wrong in their sneak preview.

For permanent residents, CPP-O (Ottawa) is going to be processing all applications going forward (existing, per the Bulletin I posted earlier, and future ones per the CIC List of Countries and Corresponding Canadian Visa Offices.

So, for new applicants that haven't sent their app yet: select CPP-O as your visa office (not Buffalo, not NYC).

And, now, we know.*

* The only question left is interviews (regional offices make sense, but no confirmation yet).

Re: Buffalo in-process apps will be processed by CPC-O

Re: Buffalo in-process apps will be processed by CPC-O

Thanks for this very much useful info.

Hope this is cheerful news for applicants belong to Buffalo VO. Any pedictions on how soon 2011 applicants can get their MR/PPR statuses?

I yet submit my PCCs and waiting for message from Buffalo VO..so now I should expect this message from CPP - Ottawa, but still don't know when should I apply for PCCs

I am at the very last stage ( received ppr). So what heck should i do now?

Just a curiosity, for comparison with buffalo processing time, Does anyone knows the processing times at CPP-Ottawa?

Past doesn't matter, future will tell.
But my 2 cents is these decisisons are made by people in the government whose best interest is that the new program works efficiently.
If the wait times increases this means they failed and they will be harshly criticised by their peers.
Canada's inner politics is built on politicians condemning each other at every mistake they make.

The processing time for Ottawa varied. I have watched the processing time for Ottawa of CEC from last year. They processed the CEC last September so fast that some of them got their PRs within 3 and half months (from application received at Buffalo to the time they landed...). But when it comes to 2012, they tends to have stricter rules than before and rejected lots of applications. Therefore, they dragged the processing time to 6+ months. Above all, it might be faster at first. We'd better wait for the first PPR from Ottawa. :)

Either wait, or e-mail CPP-O (contact info in my first post of this thread)
