Is any of you/your friends applied for Bridging Work permit to Ottawa-CPP? I am wondering if it takes the same 2+ months as usual or not.
Thanks!

Hi Alexalex, I applied for BOWP on Dec 27th, 2012, paper application. It was approved on Feb 27th, 2013, and I received it on March 10th, 2013 in mail.

I hope this helps.

Shiv

Hello Shiv,

Did you send any proof along with your application that you have received your PER?

For e.g. printout of the email you might have received from CIO?

Please let me know
Thanks,
Deepak

Have you applied GCMS notes? Are you done with the eligibility selection thing? In my notes, i can see criminality is in progress...but eligibility selection has still not started :( According to your situation, ;) may be i can also expect to hear soon. I am MI3 applicant

Is eligibility assessment not carried out in Sydney before it is forwarded to the processing office? If so I have already passed that step in the process.

Eligibility in Sidney is preliminary. There is another one done at the designated visa office.

Hi Weyland

Yes, it is carried out in Sydney but also by the visa office where your file is currently proccessing because Sydney staff just check the eligibility criteria and forward your file. The final stage of eligibility criteria is reviewed by officer assigned to your file. Even at this stage also, they can reject the case on any work experience, noc code etc thing. I heard this from some people, rest senoirs know better. Thanks.

Hi,

We've APPLIED FOR PR IN FEB2010. CURRENT STATUS IS IN PROCESS.
We got MR, Employment letter request,PCC in Jan 2012 and we sent the MR,PCC and updated employment details along with RPRF in Mar 2012.

Now we have received email, asking for
Updated IMM0008 “Generic Application Form For Canada
Updated IMM5669 “Schedule A” for yourself and your spouse
Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 6 months deposits/ withdrawals history) for yourself/ your spouse
Original police certificate for yourself and your spouse from the State where you are currently residing
Updated letter of current occupation (employment/studies) for yourself

1) What is the meaning of this? is this positive news?
2) Also, we have a baby now 3 months old. So what all documents we need to send for the baby along with these docs ?
3) And last time, it took long time for FBI report where as in the email its mentioned we need to send docs within 60 days of email. So what should we do ?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Dude, you applied under CEC. It's a different category than FSW2. Both have different timelines. CEC is usually processed faster.

See here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/buffalo-vo-fsw-pre-june-and-non-transferred-applicants-share-timeline-plz-t95004.3405.html#lastPost for ram84's case.

Hi Com2canada,

I have a question for you, actually i applied as FSW2 in Oct 2011 and since then I am not working for the employer who did my lmo due to some reason and now i got new employer who has applied lmo and result is pending. So, if inbetween CIC asks anything related to employment, can they reject my application as they did with Ram84? I have valid work permit till october 2013. Please suggest. Thanks

Hi BK11,

I would suggest to apply bridge Work Permit instead of LMO based. Have you ever got your GCMS notes where at the end it should written down your total points? Have you ask for additional documents, personal history forms or medical? If Yes, then you're completely safe, IMHO if you met the MI points 67 or more you would be accepted without confusion.

I'm also FSW-2 applied in April-2011, just did my medical, waiting for my turn.

I hope this will help.

Hi Nadeem55,

Appreciate your reply. I recently got GCMS notes and selection criteria is still pending by Ottawa office. Although, Sydney office has given me 77 points but its never predictable that Ottawa officer will stick to that markings. And, also my file is pending review as they did not even touch my file since the PER. Dont know what to do? Should I go for CEC or still wait?

Just relax. Apply to bridge your work permit like you have already been advised, and PLEASE update CIC about your new employer and what's going on. I think you should be fine - 77points is quite strong.

Thanks for your reply buddy :) Yeah I will inform CIC once I get positive LMO. One more question, when i ll get lmo approved then i need the work permit under that employer otherwise I cant take pay cheque right. My curremt work permit gonna expire this october and I cant apply for open wrk permit before 4 months of it expiration and my employer wants me to start work as sson as possible. So, i think i should go for wrk permit with the lmo basis right?

I think your case is very peculiar. I would suggest you consult more on this. But I imagine an LMO should be the way to go from your explanation, but I am not sure.

I paid my consultant huge bucks but she is so busy and careless that she hardly answer my questions and just says everything will be fine dont worry, but looking at ram84's case today, i am getting little worried for my situation. I feel so blessed that i found this forum where I can get true help and suggestions...thanks again for your reply. I am planning to apply for CEC very soon
