Kent,

You friend applied on 4 Feb and got approved on 15 March - that is 39 days, I recall the processing times then was around 40 days which was quicker than what it is today - as off 1 May the CIC website shows 64 days to process WPs.

Sorry my bad he applied on Feb 4th and his request was approved only on April 15th...That should make 71 days.

If their is not more application like jan and feb, then they are taking so long to complete the march application?

What??????

Guys,

Applied on Feb 20th for me and my spouse, just got approval today, totally 81 days. Maybe the longest waiting time in this forum. Good luck on everyone's applications.

why it took so long? Just prossesing time or they requested additonal document. Is your spouse is here in canada?

They required OWP holder fees receipt twice as they have technical issue (can't see receipt) when we uploaded at the first time (Apr 24th). Also, it seems that CIC will hold your application for exactly 7 days after they sending request letter. Anyway, I think I am the special case, you guys should hear the final decision around 64 days as it showed on official website.

Guye, march 11 here, got approved for bowl just now. As well for kids the visitor record's. But nothing for wife. I have paid for each 155 and that 100$ extra... Should I wait more or do I need to do something. Thanks

Just wait until you get physical copy , lots of time they take time for spouse, CIC is all together different.

Thanks mate, my predictions of last week appear to be bang on. The spousal one normally takes a few days more.

I had originally estimated by the end of this week for 17 March applicants, however, only in the past few days I realized the long weekend and the culture of Canadians (especially Ottawa folks) to make the most of a long weekend in the warmer months and take the Friday or the Monday off as well. So my friend, it could be a very small week for some.

On the other hand, CIC staff do work over-time.

Let's hope that we get the 17 March folks through this week.

Hi Amisnic

Can you suggest how much extra days does spousal BOWP takes? me and my wife applied for BOWP on 17th march...do you think we will both make it by this weekend? there is a long weekend coming up, and i am sure CIC will not be working on Long weekend.

Thanks for your two cents!

Keeping my fingers crossed

Hi everybody, just to share my experience...

Applied March 2nd for me and my spouse, got request for receipt for open work permit fees on May 1st (had only paid one through mycic when applying so paid the other and attached the receipts). Was going to drive to the border tomorrow and get a closed permit as my current permit expires on Thursday and I need to leave the country so can't afford to be on implied status, but... Just checked mycic and both have been approved! That was 71 days.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

I applied on April 15 so will probably need to wait for another month or so. One quick question, do you need to include payment receipt if you apply online? Thank you for you response!

Hi shek1lla,
Did you apply for visitor record for kids right with applying for BOWP? I was thinking to apply for it once i have Work Permit in place.
Can you please explain how did you apply for it?
