when is the exact date of your current PGWP?
I believe you need to wait until April...

To be eligible for a BOWP, foreign nationals must•be currently in Canada;
• have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within the next four months;
•be the principal applicant on an APR under the FSWC, the CEC, the FSTC, the PNC (see note below), or one of the two caregiver classes;
•have completed one of the following APR stages: ◦their electronic application for permanent residence (e‑APR) submitted under Express Entry has passed the R10 completeness check; or they have received a positive eligibility assessment on their paper APR submitted by mail under one of the economic classes above;
•have applied for an open work permit;
•have paid the work permit processing fee and the open work permit holder fee; and
•have provided, as applicable, evidence (e.g., nomination certificate) that their provincial nomination is unrestricted.

Hi elyxandria when should we expect our approval of BOWP?what do you think by the end of next week?

My PGWP will expire soon& would like to apply for BOWP.
My nomination has no restriction for employment.
Should I apply BOWP way ahead or just month before my work permit expires? (which is the most beneficial way to do it?
Also, some say u dont need supporting letter from pnp to apply BOWP? is it true? anyone knows?

Yeah you need to submit first your PR application and you will receive acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) then you should attached AOR to apply for your BOWP.

Hello experts,
I need some advise

Im in the process of applying for BOWP, Me my wife and my son completed our medicals on the 10th of January and waiting for PPR. I just realized my son's passport is expiring in October.

Is it advisable to get a new passport for my son (processing time 2 months) and then apply for BOWP.

Will IRCC grant me BOWP for one full year even if I do not get a new passport for my son or will it be based on my son's passport expiry date?

Since you applied for BOWP before your current status expires, you are under implied status. It means you can stay and keep working for the same company you got the closed work permit for, until a decision will be made on your BOWP application. Your permit can expire and you still can stay and work.

Hello everyone,

I just joined this forum and I have found this to be very helpful. I am in a critical situation:

My PGWP expired on September, 2015, applied for BOWP before the expiry date but was denied because I had not gotten an ITA and was asked to get an LMIA from my company which of course I was not given because my company said it's too stressful for them. I applied for study permit which was approved till March 31st, 2017.
I was studying and also working part-time in the same company. I got ITA in January under CEC and I have been gathering all my documents, the only document left is my passport which I will be renewing next week then I can submit my application.

Now the question is this? Where does this leave me? I don't intend to stay here as an illegal immigrant and can I still apply for BOWP?
