Seniors please help !

I am planning to apply for BOWP as soon as I receive my AOR (expecting AOR on Oct-20 as my CEC application is received at CIC Sydney on Aug -23) and my closed WP and my wife's visitor record are getting expired on Oct- 31.

Can I be able to apply BOWP for my wife as well, she does not have any work permit currently either closed or open. She has her visitor record till 31-Oct. How can change her conditions or extend her visitor record after Oct-31? Please advise.

Got my Aor few weeks ago and applied for bowp last week... Visa I have now is due to expire in a few weeks. Pretty nervous, so what are reasons my bowp could be refused? I applied with a lawyer via online route.

So if I'm estimating correctly, the average time for processing (from applying to approval) BOWP is ~1 month?

Just spoke with a CIC agent at the call centre about the status of my BOWP (paper) application received by CIC on July 30th, and she informed me that they are currently working on applications received on June 25th. So I've got atleast 1.5 months more before I can hear back from them about a decision on my application.

Must be July 25th not June. I was told last week that they were busy with July 26th apps.

Well mine is a PAPER application, and she told me that date based on the CIC's website (for work permit with same employer).

You can submit the Online application for you & your wife's BOWP together. Be ready with required docs before you get your AOR & as soon as you get it submit your BOWP application as you have tight timelines. Online is very easy & self explanatory.

I submitted my BOWP on July 19 (paper app) and just got my permit in the mail today! It says it was approved Sept 5. No email though.

Quick update - I received an e-mail on the 7th September, confirming that mine was accepted. Again, I applied on the 8th August, and was approved on the 5th September (I called up on the 6th and was told I'd been approved).

So while they are technically still working on July applications, they are working on ones from later as well - I have no idea how they prioritise, though, if there's a system at all. My old permit expired today though, so maybe urgency is a factor? No way of knowing, really.

Anyway, good luck to everyone! The last 9 months of application preparation have burned me out so I am going to try and forget about immigration for a while and enjoy Toronto!

I would also like to suggest you to not start the online BOWP application until he day you want to submit the application. The system gives yo an error and doesn't let you complete the online application if you start it and get back to it on later day to complete it and submit it (it should but it doesn't). THis happened to me, and I ended up submitting a paper application thinking that the online system was down. The better solution in my case would have been to delete the already started application and start a new application and submit it. That would have worked, but I didn't know it then.

Anyway to make the long story short, just start your application only after you have all the required & supporting documents and you are ready to submit your application.

Thank you very much sava for your valuable suggestions, I will follow the same.
