Hello PA,

I have not applied yet and currently applying for it. I am also including an OWP and Visitors record for my wife and son. I do not know why I am getting below messages everytime I am trying to submit..

I have one more question to ask - I do see an option to get Open WorkPermit and Study Permit at the same time for your family member? Is it possible to obtain Open Work Permit and Study Permit at the same time?

Thanks

bahadur

I am not sure if we can apply for both together.

Hello
I would like to apply for my BOWP via post and I am just starting to fill out forms but I just want to double check on what all the forms are which I need to post and fill in? Do I also need to fill out the from to extend stay or just extend visa or is their one thats for the BOWP and all the forms all linked to that??
Thanks for any help

Congratulations! That's great.

@samleb: Could you please post additional information such as :

1. When your WP was about to expire?
2. When you sent in the application?
3. Exact validity of the new BOWP

As per this link below - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/tips-for-a-successful-bowp-application-and-advise-t147650.0.html

It says to choose Open Work Permit but I dont think we have that option here...

We have following options -

1. A work Permit with the same employer
2. A work Permit with a new employer.

Which one to choose??

Thanks,

Several people here have chosen both options. If you only choose "same employer" they may think you're applying under LMO. Choose both and you can also choose "Open Work Permit". In the employer section you write "Not Applicable - Bridging Open Work Permit Application". Check out the rest of this thread, you should be able to find all the tips.

thanks LCM21 - but I think that was after the form was submitted. Mine was just saved. I think I figured out what has happened - there is an updated form (be sure to download it again before you send your application IMM5710) and they've changed some of the "rules" in the interview.... previously one of the questions was:
"Have you been told by a Citizenship and Immigration Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada?"
Previously I put "no" - as I havent received my AOR - and it allowed me to still continue an application. But today it promoted me to answer the questions again and I put "no" again - ends up saying I need an LMO. So I changed the answer to "yes" and it let me go through to the application. I'm submitting and explanation letter and the OB 485... hoping it will all go through okay. stressful times.

Just to make sure - I guess you weren't talking about changes in the IMM 5710 form? That's what I thought at first, but I checked the latest form online and it still seems to be the same version.

on the online form it only allows you to select one of the options, not both. I selected "new employer"

Yes, IMM 5710 did change - check the bottom it is now dated 04-2013, but I think it was only updated in the last few days.
