Here's the audit report of the Canadian Embassy in Bogota from 2011. It contains some interesting information, such as how many apps they process etc. It also states that there are 5 Canadian Immigration officers, and 13 Local immigration support staff. When you see how many apps they deal with every year, it's no surprise that processing times are so long!

she is from 8500 ft, which is not that low
however, she can not imagine sub-zero temperatures
told her to put a thermometer into the fridge--that is the west-coast (Vancouver) in the winter
then put it into the freezer--that is the east-coast in the winter
there is no way to demonstrate Winnipeg--the freezer is not cold enough !
:)
My wife is also from an area with elevation of 8500 ft. I find it very cold at night there when I go and visit in (our) summer. And the weather can be downright miserable sometimes. Not as miserable as Vancouver in November, but not too far off.

If you live in a cold place in Canada you can always dress warmly - and we also have decent heating and well made houses!

Interesting. Thanks for that. I had also heard from another source that those were about the numbers of Canadian Immigration officers and local immigration support staff.

thank you for ccunnington for the embassy audit info, interesting readings

Recommendation 2

Bogota program management and the International Region should consult with legal services to confirm whether a formal agreement with the private organization used to issue criminal clearance certificates during applicant admissibility checks is required.

this confirms, that Risk Management Colombia SA is indeed a private security company

Actually it looks like "Risk Management Colombia" is part of the G4S Security Solutions Group, which is an international private Security Consultation company.

sounds like, they might consider to discontinue this "double" checking of the applicants
the certificate from the police (DAS) should be good enough..as it is in any other countries !

We went to DAS to see about getting one, and they said they don't do that anymore...there is the system where you can go online and put in your Cedula number and it will spit out a one line report that says "no criminal record", but that's it. I think that's why they're using this other company

You probably won't see any changes on ECAS until "decision made" time. But before then, you should either get a request for an interview, if required, or a request for additional documentation, if required, or passport request. None of these things usually show up on ECAS. ECAS is useless as far as I'm concerned. The only way to get good info it through the GCMS notes, but since you're getting close to the end, i'd just wait it out! However, if you get a request for an interview, order the GCMS notes right away, as it will contain all the reasons why they want an interview and help you prepare!

so basically, next we should hear something from VO

Hi guys,

I've been wanting to send to bogota conversations between my husband and I, also pictures of his trip to visit me. I've emailed immigration and they never reply asking if I should wait until they ask me for more evidence or if I can go ahead and send what I have and to where would I send the stuff. What do you guys think I should do?

In the AOR we received from Bogota, it said that IF an interview was required, they would give a minimum of 30 days notice....about the same time it takes to get your GCMS notes!

Wait. Don't send anything unless it is requested by the Visa Office. I've spent the last year and a half reading through hundreds of different threads on this site, and almost everyone says the same thing...by sending documentation without getting a request, could delay the process. I know it would seem that its being proactive, but this isn't really the case!

Hi guys,

Just wanted to see how everyone was doing. I just came back from Colombia hence why I stopped posting :). I haven't heard anything from my case, but I did just send the app to get our GCMS notes so we'll see what they say in about a month from now.
Hope everyone is doing great and lets cross our fingers so our cases get moving this month!!!
