hello Sampvic,
i am not really sure how long it takes for the Police certificate to get to the embassy. I have heard that it can take anywhere between 4-8weeks. Did you mail a copy of the receipt you got from the Banco de Occident to the embassy? did you keep a copy for yourself too? maybe you can use that to make some equiries for the police or write directly to embassy and give them the a copy of the receipt from Banco de Occidente

what happened with our case is my wife recieved a letter from the embassy with instructions to pay Banco de Occident and forward the receipt to the embassy, She paid the requested amount in Colombia. At this stage we are not sure if the embassy recieved her PC or not. we are just assuming they got it.

Hi Ibague,

Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I made the payment in my HSBC-Canada bank (wire-transferred to Banco de Occidente). And yes, I had emailed the copy of the bank slip to both aplicantes@procesosec.com and the visa office (Case Processing Pilot – Ottawa) processing my application.
If it is 4-8 weeks for the Colombia PC to be sent to the visa office, I still have to wait since it has just been 5 weeks since I paid in the bank. But I would just like to ask if there's any way to check with Risk Management Colombia if they're processing my Colombia PC or not, if I am waiting for nothing :(

Bogota seems to have a pretty big staff, so why they are so slow is strange!
Have you ever been to Colombia? :) It's not exactly the most efficient of places...

Sad but true!

We've found out why our application has been delayed. The embassy requested another document a month ago, but this email ended up in my wife's junk email folder and she didn't see it. Hopefully our case will continue processing again soon.

That's insane. Why can't they request all the required documents at one time. Would you mind telling what they requested this time?

What's up everyone.

I applied on June 2011 in Mississauga.

Our file was then transferred to Colombia on September 2011.

On February 2012, new medicals and passport were requested.

As today, October 29 2012, have not heard anything yet.
My passport is still in Bogota.

I live in the US(Florida).

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Wow...long time for you. What's been the delay?

My mistake. I just spoke to my wife. Originally she did miss the email request from the embassy for the marriage certificate, but later she saw it and then sent the notarized copy of the marriage certificate. But, the embassy are saying they haven't received it even though we have a receipt proving that they received it! My wife has emailed the embassy again with the receipt, but in the meantime she is going to send another copy...

hey guys just to let you know that today my wife got an email from the embassy letting her know that they got the application.it pretty much just explained what's to happen within the next few months. They mentioned she may or may not have an interview and that it would take approximate 10 months to get an answer. now I don't know if it's 10 months from the time we got this e mail or from the time they got the application which was back in may 22. It didn't say anything about the police check so I'm hoping to get an email requesting the payment for it in the near future.
so the process for us has been like this:

feb 6 2012 application received in mississauga
may 9 2012 got AOR from mississauga
may 10 2012 file transferred to bogota
may 22 2012 application received in bogota
october 29 2012 AOR from bogota
Ecas shows as application received (medicals have been received)
