Bill C-6: Senate stage

For c6 to be reported and dealt with for 3rd reading on the same day will be a little bit complicated here ..

That would be our luck. They changed to 4/6 nine days before I was eligible (plus time outside Canada of about two weeks).

Marceau do you remember as a kid when you watched cartoons and a cloud or bubble appears above the head of a character. and they see an idea or have some type of epiphany? That is what asifmehmood is experiencing :). No one knows when it will pass Committee and be transferred to third reading yet. It could be March 2nd like he said, but that would be pure coincidence.

If not on 2nd and 3rd, most likely it will be on 9th and 10th of March,
It seems that's they are going to vote clause by clause then as usual all cons nay and rest yay lol then it will be sent back to 3rd reading

Then we will wait order of the day :D passed !!!!!! passed!!! and skipped for few weeks...... and life goes on 8) until it becomes a law.

But I am sure it will be applied before summer vacation

committee will be done with it on march 2nd that is for sure , they will vote clause by clause on this date . However , one can't be so sure that it will go straight to 3rd reading after since we don't know yet if any amendments will be brought forward. Even at the 3rd reading stage , it may go quickly like not , and it could even pass by december 2017 , we can't predict anything at this stage . One thing ,once again , committee will be done with c6 on march 2nd. I think the senate will wrap up c4 and c6 together , it is just my guess/prediction , not to be taken for granted .
People here are being mixed up between implementation and royal assent .
For the 3/5 rule to kick in before at LEAST fall 2017 is a miracle . For c6 to PASS as a law before july 2017 SEEMS possible.

Can amendment be done during 3rd reading? isnt it must be done by committee?
 
when they will vote for it , this is when amendments will be proposed or not. I'd be highly surprised if there aren't any .
 
Do the liberals even have the requisite votes to get it through third reading?

In second reading I dont think there was a vote which took place. I took at a look at the Senate proceedings from Dec 15 and there was a no Yay/No votes.

This bill might still be doomed - although cons are only 39 out of 100 senators - but they need only 11 more votes to crash this bill.

With the current development, such as people moving from the US to Canada, and Quebec declare sanctuary city for the undocumented, I wonder how the C6 discussion in senate would be affected ...
on the plus side, they may feel the pressure of setting an opposite example of Trump and push it through
or the opposite, they would become more careful about it and put more time and efforts debating and eventually reaching nowhere...
