You can send an inquiry to BERUTIM-PermRes@international.gc.ca but it is not a good idea. The more inquiries you send the longer your application will be delayed. They don't like it when we ask them about the status of our applications and most often then will ignore us. They even have that said in the auto reply to the email.
How long have you been waiting and do you have an idea which stage you are at? Have they started the background check for you? Because that's where everyone seems to b delayed.

I know, same here. It's a torture especially after he lost his job and he can't sign any new contracts because the visa may come any time and he won't be able to travel if he has a contract.

I think we are all delayed .. I dunno why! Should process the backlog before processing new applications following the process first in first out. No application should take more than 15 months all in all ! It's insane!

Question: do they extend re-medical or we should pay more and more money and do a 3rd medical?

For some people they send a request to re-do the medical exams and for others they automatically extend it.
You know when you first submitted your medicals and count one year after. If they don't send you an email requesting you to redo them, then it means they probably extended them and you don't have to do anything. Don't redo the medicals without being asked for them, you would be wasting your money.

I think the main reason for the delay is the Syrian refugee applications. They have them as priority and all units responsible for doing the Background Checks are busy doing it for the refugees and the visa office in Beirut is cluttered with their applications. They misplaced many applications including mine and the application of one of my relatives was sent to Tel Aviv visa office by mistake!

Strange enough, the processing time for Beirut changed to 13 months instead of 14 and you guys are still waiting. At least for me it has been only 13 months (saying it with tears in my eyes because it is still too long and a torture for us). God be with you.

23 months so far for me and I dunno I feel it will take forever. I am really speechless! My spouse and I are suffering and they should find a solution for our applications.

That's terrible. Did you try ordering GCMS notes to see where your file is at?
