Hi,

I have EE 425 points and am eligible for both CEC and FSW. (But right now out of Canada)

Do i need manadate job offer to apply under any category in BC PNP

Could someone kindly respond??
If you graduated from certain Master or PHD program from BC institution within last 2 years, you don't need job offer. Otherwise job offer is required for BCPNP.

New draw.

My husband got an ITA today. Entry level and semi-skilled category. 88 points.

Question for you who already applied.

Settlement funds. How much money did you write down? Can I show ownership of vehicles we own here in Canada and in our home country? Our bank accounts? His T4 slip?

Thanks!

This is what I found at BC PNP site:

settlement funds are funds that will be used to support yourself
and if applicable, your family, after you arrive in B.C.
these funds could be in the form of:
 Cash/ Bank accounts
 Documents that show property or capital payable to you
(such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.)
or
 Documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of
money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’
drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders)

This is what I found on CIC website:
Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $12,164
2 $15,143
3 $18,617
4 $22,603
5 $25,636
6 $28,913
7 or more $32,191

So, when I applied I showed $16,000 in my bank account (as we are family of 2). For proof, I have attached my bank statement as well as my last 3 pay stubs.

Hello everyone,

First time poster here - I'm confused about my options for becoming a Canadian Permanent Resident and I was wondering if this is the right place to ask?
I am a software engineer (with an university degree) and a LMIA supported job offer in British Columbia will be extended to me. I suppose my employer is going to start an immigration process for me, but I guess this would be an "ordinary" work permit i.e. through the Temporary Foreign Worker program. I would of course prefer to come to Canada as a Permanent Resident - and based on initial research it would seem that the BC PNP program would provide my best opportunity to achieve this.
So my question is, does it make sense for me to attempt this, approximately how long would the process take and most importantly, would it interfere with the process that my employer would initiate for me?

Best regards and thanks!

If you have the LMIA you can use it to apply for a PR. No need for the PNP. In any case the advantage of getting a work permit instead of the PR directly is that the process is much faster and as far as I know less restrictive. That means you can come to Canada and start working much earlier and with less paperwork on your part. Then after you arrive you can apply for the PR using the LMIA in the same way.

If your experience is gained in Canada, yes you are eligible to enter express entry pool.
However, to qualify EEBC category, you need to have 2 years of experience.
