Thank you for the reply, I wonder what is their timeline, I read somewhere in this forum says about 129 days for inland processing. My Security check started almost 1 year ago, still no result...I've been living, studying, working in Canada for the past 14, oh well almost 15 years, pay taxes every year, only 1 parking ticket...no army things at all in my entire life.

Maybe I lived in Canada too long? or Maybe I got a easy popular name, too many people with same name?

What you said about filing a complaint, it's true though, useless for now...

Thanks again, Best regards.
Following up with CSIS

If you think the background check is taking too long, first you must ensure that your file is indeed with CSIS for the background check. The easiest way to do this is to call the CIC call centre. Alternatively, you can order your FOSS notes.
To follow up with CSIS, you must forward your complaint in writing (in a formal letter) to the Director of CSIS at:
Director
Canadian Security Intelligence Service
P.O. Box 9732, Station T
Ottawa, ON K1G 4G4
Alternatively, the fax number for the director's office is: +1 613 231 0437
The director must respond to your letter within 30 days of receipt.
If you are not satisfied with the Director's response, you can then submit another complaint to the watchdog agency that oversees CSIS, the federal Security Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC).
You can send your inquiry in writing to:
Security Intelligence Review Committee
P.O. Box 2430, Station D
Ottawa, Ontario K1P 5W5
or by fax to: +1 613 990 5230
You can also call SIRC between 8am to 5pm EST to +1 613 990 8441 Collect calls are accepted.

I wouldn't complain. But I would consider faxing them a request to see if your bg check has been completed. I've read of people doing this before and discovering the background check has already been completed. You will prob need to provide a piece of ID etc etc.

called CIC call center, they said they have no access to the file cause the file is in Ottawa;
called SIRC @ 613 990 8441, they said they have absolutely nothing to do with Immigration, only deal with complaint
gonna fax them instead, thanks!

Hello Savinca,

I was reading some of your post, I guess right now I am in similar situation like you. My background check is taking way longer than other applicants (I am in Canada for last 12 years or so). You mentioned earlier about contacting CSIS, was there any luck contacting the CSIS director or it may make the case more complex. Will really appreciate your kind response.

Savinca hasn't been online since June 2013 so you may not get a response.
Have you ordered GCMS notes? Can you share your timeline and how do you know your file is in background check?

I sent a letter to the director no response called CSIS after 30 days they asked me to send them fax this time, again waited for 30 days
and called them again they said they cannot reveal anything to me regarding my background checks and if I have any questions I should ask CIC to contact them on my behalf and then they will respond to any question.

I guess unless you are Filipino, Punjabi etc. CIC will purposely delay your application for no reason as you are NOT in their priority list. There's some evil politics going on with this Canadian immigration.

I felt the same way, I thought maybe they are giving hard time to middle eastern applicants but then came across some people from Europe & states waiting patiently for their PR....
