Totally agreed, Aadhar is not proof of citizenship, its same as SIN or SSN. But when issuing Aadhar for a new born with an Indian Birth Certificate the legal status of the baby will be marked as citizen of India. Aadhar cant be issued without a legal status. This has caused trouble when applying for visa or oci in several cases.

For instance: Typically prior to OCI, the Indian passport is surrendered first there by renouncing Indian citizenship, that deactivates Aadhar as well. If required new Aadhar can be requested as a foreign national.
Ohh, so in your case you applied for Canadian citizenship certificate without Aadhar? If yes, then did the embassy accept it?

Yes we applied without Aadhar, only with Indian Birth Cert. They send our file to PSU, but got the approval two weeks ago

May I know what is PSU?

Ok, so this is IRCC related department which deals which such cases I believe. I am right? Also since in your previous post you mentioned you got approval two weeks ago which means you received Citizenship Certificate for your child, correct? If this is so, then what was your timeline with respect to wait times?
