@legalfalcon - If the security background check hasn't started, does this mean it will take a minimum of 110 days from now? I believe you mentioned that's the average time it takes?

Not everyone goes through security screening that takes that long, see the online version of the CBSA security screening manual to see how its done https://bit.ly/3mqHP5I

Hi @legalfalcon ,

We got the below reply in response to our webform raised 2 weeks ago, Could you please share your thoughts?. August 21, 2020 AOR, Sep 10,2020 Biometric submitted and currently application is at 74% and 48 days towards estimated completion date. TIA

We verified the information on file and can confirm that:

  • Your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is currently valid.

Hi, do you mind if I ask which webform link that you used and what did you ask to get that detailed response? I have seen people said that their responses were really generic and basically said IRCC was working on the application.

Congrats @Debbso
I'm late to the party.
Greetings to everyone as well.
Those of you who have received gcms are fortunate. Ordered mine since nov 20, no show. Webform sent since Dec 11. No show as well

Still, good vibes only.

Hi, Happy New year everyone!

Anyone from the London visa office got any updates? I don't know if they are working in Lockdown.
How much time do they take for the security?

Thank you @legalfalcon .

How long does it take to complete the Security Check once initiated ?. Any thoughts on this?

An average security screening takes 110 days, but can differ as this time frame is from the manual published in 2016.

The security screening only starts after a request for SS is sent by IRCC, which usually happens after the eligibility is conclusively passed. To see how eligibility is conclusively passed, see my previous post #2,520

Only after a request for security screening is sent, will the 110 processing time frame be initiated.

All web forms start at https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp just be specific in the questions you ask. The response may be generic or the agent may specifically answer your questions. More about web form responses at https://bit.ly/2FUPKIe

Background check is a generic term for criminality check, security screening and information sharing. See more at https://bit.ly/3iXMnyw

The application is processed at different offices throughout the process. It is the office where your application currently is, which will review the ADR. The PPR can be sent by the primary or secondary office, but it will be the primary office where most of the processing takes place.
Thank you
